Impact Getting the start at shortstop and batting seventh, Arcia took minor leaguer Paxton Thompson deep in the sixth inning. The 29-year-old infielder revived his career last season and set career highs with 17 homers, 65 RBI and 66 runs over 139 games, and with Vaughn Grissom now in Boston and Braden Shewmake a member of the White Sox organization, there's no immediate competition for Arcia left in the Atlanta system.

Impact That's nine Ks and a 0.00 ERA in 4.2 innings for Sale as he gets ready for his first campaign with Atlanta. The 34-year-old lefty hasn't made 25 starts in a season since 2019, and injuries have left his numbers somewhat volatile since he crossed over into his 30s, but he appears to be 100 percent healthy in camp and could be poised for a rebound. At the very least, he could take a run at double-digit wins for the first time since 2018 with one of the most potent offenses in MLB at his back.

Impact Making his spring debut, Stephens was credited with a hold while throwing 21 pitches to four hitters. The 29-year-old right-hander finished the 2023 campaign on Atlanta's injured list due to right elbow inflammation, but he's faced no apparent limitations thus far in camp. After re-signing with Atlanta on a split contract over the winter, Stephens may need an impressive showing in the spring to win a spot in the Opening Day bullpen.

Ronald Acuña - MRI shows irritation in knee Acuna (knee) underwent an MRI which showed irritation in his right meniscus, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Impact After he was scratched from the lineup Friday, Acuna was examined and an MRI was recommended. The plan is for Acuna to see a doctor in Los Angeles to further assess the injury, though at this stage Atlanta still expects the superstar outfielder to be ready for Opening Day. Unless the injury turns out to be more serious than currently believed, he seems unlikely to fall off his perch as the undisputed No. 1 pick in fantasy for 2024.
