Jeffrey Springs - Limits Rangers to three baserunners Springs (4-3) earned the win against the Rangers on Thursday, allowing two hits and one walk while striking out one over six scoreless innings.
Impact Springs ran into a bit of trouble in the fifth inning with runners on second and third, but he struck out Tucker Barnhart to escape the frame unscathed. Tyler Mahle - Takes loss despite quality start Mahle (3-1) came away with the loss against the Athletics on Thursday, allowing one run on five hits and one walk while striking out six over six innings.
Impact Mahle gave up an RBI single to Miguel Andujar in the first inning, but the former stranded baserunners on the corners to limit the damage to one run. Mahle retired 12 straight batters over the next five scoreless frames, but he was still tagged with the loss as the Rangers' bats fell silent against Jeffrey Springs and the A's bullpen. Mahle has four quality starts over his last five outings, and his 1.19 ERA over 37.2 innings is tied with Max Fried for second best in the majors behind Yoshinobu Yamamoto (1.06). Mahle is lined up to face the Red Sox at Fenway Park next week.

Blaine Crim - Added to big-league roster Crim had his contract selected by the Rangers on Thursday, Ken Rosenthal of The Athleticreports.
Impact Crim spent all of the 2023 and 2024 seasons at Triple-A Round Rock and posted .391 and .382 wOBAs, respectively. He doesn't have much pedigree and isn't likely to be long for the majors as a replacement for Jake Burger, though he should see occasional playing time in the short term.

Jake Burger - Demoted to minors Burger was demoted to Triple-A Round Rock on Thursday, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.
Impact Burger has gotten off to a dreadful start in his first season with the Rangers, hitting just .190 with a 29.6 percent strikeout rate across 108 plate appearances. Nevertheless, his demotion comes as a significant surprise. Rosenthal reports that Burger's time in the minors should be short and is viewed as a way for him to reset.
