Anthony Misiewicz - Recalled from Triple-A Misiewicz was recalled Thursday from Triple-A Reno.

Impact Misiewicz was acquired from the Cardinals in late March and will get his first look with the Diamondbacks in a lefty relief role. The 28-year-old southpaw carries a 4.43 ERA through 103.2 career major-league innings.

Tommy Henry - Will join Arizona rotation Henry will take Madison Bumgarner's place in the Diamondbacks' starting rotation, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

Impact Bumgarner was designated for assignment Thursday morning and Henry is going to get the first shot at that vacant rotation spot, which comes around again Monday versus the Royals. Brandon Pfaadt should soon be a consideration too, especially if Henry's early struggles at Triple-A Reno carry over onto the MLB scene. The 25-year-old holds an ugly 6.33 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 22:8 K:BB in 21.1 innings (four starts) this year with Reno and had a 5.36 ERA in nine big-league starts last season. He's not a reccomended fantasy streamer.

Brandon Pfaadt - Pitching at Triple-A on Thursday Pfaadt is scheduled to start Thursday for Triple-A Reno, Sam Dykstra of MiLB.com reports.

Impact It's notable that Pfaadt is basically on the same pitching schedule as Madison Bumgarner, who was designated for assignment by the Diamondbacks on Thursday morning. Pfaadt could eventually slide into Arizona's starting rotation as a direct replacement for MadBum, though Tommy Henry will reportedly get the first such turn. Pfaadt, 24, has posted a 3.63 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 395:64 K:BB in 312 career minor-league innings and entered the 2023 campaign as a consensus top-100 prospect. He's tallied 17 strikeouts through 13.1 frames this year with Reno.

Madison Bumgarner - Designated for assignment Bumgarner was designated for assignment by the Diamondbacks on Thursday, Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports.

Impact It's a rather shocking move, as Bumgarner is still owed around $36 million from the five-year, $85 million contract that he signed with Arizona back in December 2019. The 33--year-old left-hander had been lit up for 20 runs -- 19 earned -- through 16.2 innings (four starts) this season and heads into DFA limbo with an overall 5.23 ERA in 363.1 total frames (69 starts) as a member of the Diamondbacks. He'll assuredly pass through waivers unclaimed because of the remaining money on his contract before then heading into free agency in search of a new team.
