Mike Brosseau - Exits with illness Brosseau left Friday's Cactus League game against Oakland due to illness, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Impact Brosseau is fighting for a bench spot in camp. As long as he's able to get back on the field within the next few days, his illness is unlikely to significantly impact his pursuit of that role.

Taylor Widener - Works two innings in start Widener allowed one run on four hits while striking out two over two innings in Thursday's spring training game against the Brewers.
Impact Widener, who split time in the Diamondbacks' rotation and bullpen in 2021, started Thursday's game and has an outside chance for the No. 5 starter job. Arizona's signing of Zach Davies earlier this week appears to make him the frontrunner, but if Davies and/or Zac Gallen (shoulder) isn't ready by the first week of the season, there could be a slot for Widener or several other candidates being stretched out.

Seth Beer - Stakes claim to DH Beer went 3-for-3 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored in Thursday's spring training game against the Brewers.
Impact Beer started at first base, but he's the leading candidate to become the primary designated hitter. He appears to be past the shoulder injury that required surgery last September. Thus far in the Cactus League, Beer is 5-for-9 with three RBI and three runs scored over five games.

Zac Gallen - Another live BP coming Gallen (shoulder) is scheduled to throw a live batting practice session Friday, Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports.
Impact Gallen, who has been working his way back from shoulder soreness, will throw his second live BP session of the week. The right-hander came out of the first one feeling good. While he may not be ready to make the first turn of the rotation during the regular season, all signs point to Gallen being ready soon after that.
