Ryne Nelson - Will get one more start Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said Wednesday that Nelson is tentatively scheduled to start Friday's game against the Red Sox, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.
Impact Nelson will be available in relief Wednesday in Miami, if needed, but if he doesn't pitch then he will take the ball Friday. As things currently stand, it would be Nelson's final start before moving to the bullpen, as Lovullo plans to go back to a traditional five-man rotation. Nelson doesn't deserve the demotion, having posted a 2.73 ERA and 55:11 K:BB over 56 innings since the beginning of July.

Jesús Sánchez - Idle against lefty Sanchez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks, Kevin Barral of FishonFirst.com reports.
Impact The lefty-hitting Sanchez will remain on the bench for a second straight game while the Diamondbacks send another left-hander (Jordan Montgomery) to the hill. David Hensley will pick up a start in right field in Sanchez's stead.

Kyle Stowers - Taking seat against southpaw Stowers is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks, Kevin Barral of FishonFirst.com reports.
Impact Stowers started against lefty Eduardo Rodriguez in Tuesday's 3-1 loss, but he'll head to the bench Wednesday while the Diamondbacks send a second straight southpaw (Jordan Montgomery) to the bump. Derek Hill will fill in in left field for Stowers, who has struggled to a .133/.200/.133 through his first 18 games with the Marlins following his acquisition from the Orioles at the trade deadline.

Nick Fortes - Getting day off Fortes is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks, Kevin Barral of FishonFirst.com reports.
Impact Flores had started each of the Marlins' last four games behind the plate, so he'll be getting a breather for the series finale. Ali Sanchez will step in at catcher in place of Flores, who has been swinging a hot bat lately with a .998 OPS over his last 11 games.

Kevin Newman - Heading to bench Wednesday Newman is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Marlins.
Impact Newman will hit the bench for the series finale after he had occupied the keystone for each of the Diamondbacks' last four contests while going 3-for-15 at the plate. With Ketel Marte (ankle) on the shelf, the Diamondbacks will have a regular spot at second base open for the foreseeable future, but it's unclear if manager Torey Lovullo has settled on Newman as the primary option. The Diamondbacks signed Luis Guillorme on Tuesday, and he'll check into the lineup at second base a day later for what will be his team debut. Guillorme bats from the left side, so the Diamondbacks could have him fill the strong side of a platoon with the right-handed-hitting Newman.
