Impact The 27-year-old started the night on the bench, but after Nick Castellanos exited following a hit by pitch in the third inning, Aquino took over in right field and took Miguel Sanchez deep in the ninth after the game was out of reach. Impact The Reds didn't mention any injury for Aquino, and it's very possible that he's completely healthy. The team's lineup was adjusted following the news that lefty Blake Snell was scratched from his start for the Padres due to an illness and would be replaced by righty Craig Stammen. That would seemingly explain the switch from Aquino to the left-handed Shogo Akiyama in center field.

Impact Aquino was on the shelf for the past two months after suffering a hamate fracture in his left wrist that required surgery. The 27-year-old was cleared to begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Louisville earlier this month and looked good during his week-long stint with the affiliate, going 5-for-19 with a home run and eight walks in six games. Now that he's back from the IL, Aquino will likely fill a reserve role in the Cincinnati outfield, though he could be a candidate to work in the short side of a platoon with Tyler Naquin.

Impact Aquino has been out since fracturing his left hamate bone in mid-April. He certainly looks ready to go judging by his numbers in five rehab games, as he's gone 5-for-15 at the plate with a homer, seven walks and just one strikeout. He'll give the Reds an option off the bench once he returns, but the team doesn't appear to have many starts available for him in the outfield.
