Earns win in blowout Nola (3-7) allowed four runs on four hits and three walks while striking out four over six innings to earn the win over Atlanta on Thursday.

Impact Nola wasn't at his best Thursday, but Philadelphia's seven-homer barrage gave him plenty of runway to work with. He's still shaking off the rust after a three-month absence -- he's allowed 13 runs (12 earned) across 14.1 innings since returning from an ankle sprain and a stress fracture in his rib. Between injuries and lackluster performance, highlighted by a 6.47 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 66:21 K:BB through 64 innings across 12 starts, it's been a season to forget for the 32-year-old right-hander. He's projected to make his next start at Milwaukee in a challenging matchup.

Impact The veteran right-hander shut down the Washington offense for four frames before beginning to fade, and he served up solo shots to CJ Abrams and Luis Garcia in the sixth inning. Nola still left the mound after 97 pitches (64 strikes) with his first win, and first quality start, since May 3, having missed three months over the summer with ankle and rib injuries. He'll look to build on this performance in his next outing, which is scheduled to come at home next week against Atlanta.

Impact Nola made his long-awaited return from the injured list Sunday after missing three months with an ankle sprain and stress fracture in his right rib. The 32-year-old worked up to 84 pitches during his minor-league rehab assignment, but he lasted merely 53 pitches as the Nationals teed off on him in the third inning. Nola yielded six of his seven hits and his lone walk in the frame, all consecutively. The 32-year-old had been excellent during his rehab assignment, posting a 2.19 ERA and a 17:3 K:BB in 12.1 innings across three appearances. He's tentatively scheduled for a rematch with the Nationals next weekend.

After covering 5.2 frames and tossing 84 pitches in his final rehab outing for Lehigh Valley, Nola should be capable of handling a typical starter's workload Sunday, and he'll get a soft landing for his return while facing a Nationals squad that has posted a 90 wRC+ as a team since the All-Star break.
