INJURIES

Finishes season positively Civale (12-5) threw six shutout innings to earn the win over Texas on Sunday. He allowed three hits and a walk with four strikeouts.
Impact The right-hander endured a rough return to action in September after missing over two months with a sprained finger. He turned in just two quality starts in his last six outings, with Sunday's arguably the best of the bunch. Civale sported a 3.32 ERA through his first 15 starts this year, but the uneven final month bumped that mark up to 3.84 in 124.1 innings. The 26-year-old added a 1.12 WHIP and 99:31 K:BB in 21 starts.

Gets one more chance Civale will start Sunday's season finale against the Royals, Paul Hoynes of Cleveland.com reports.
Impact The team is hoping to get a few more innings under Civale's belt, as he has managed only 20.2 frames since the All-Star break after dealing with sprained finger. He has also not performed well in that span, surrendering a 7.40 ERA and 1.50 WHIP across 20.2 frames. Civale will look to end his season on a positive note and will enter the outing with an overall line of a 4.03 ERA and 1.14 WHIP with 95 strikeouts across 118.1 innings.

Struggles again Tuesday Civale allowed four runs on four hits and one walk while striking out three over 5.1 innings against Kansas City on Tuesday. He did not factor in the decision.
Impact The right-hander was considerably better than his last time out, when he gave up seven earned runs over 1.2 frames. However, he was stung by a pair of long balls and has now served up nine homers over his past 16 innings. Over that span, he has also allowed 16 earned runs, pushing his season ERA from 3.25 to 4.02. Civale isn't likely to make another start this season; if he doesn't get into another game, he'll finish the campaign with a career-best 11 wins over 20 starts.

Impact After firing six scoreless innings against the Yankees last week, Civale took an immediate hit against the White Sox, starting with a leadoff home run by Tim Anderson. The second inning proved to be disastrous as the right-hander gave up back-to-back homers to Luis Robert and Eloy Jimenez before Tim Anderson came through with his second long ball of the day. It was an unusual clunker for Civale, whose seven runs allowed were a season-worst. The 26-year-old has compiled a strong 3.90 ERA and 1.15 WHIP on the year and will look to get back on track during his next projected start Wednesday at Kansas City.

Goes six scoreless against Yankees Civale (11-4) threw six shutout innings Saturday against the Yankees, allowing four hits and one walk while striking out four to earn the victory.
Impact Civale quickly put last Sunday's rocky outing in the rearview mirror, limiting New York to just one extra-base hit, a DJ LeMahieu double to lead off the game. Civale has now spun two quality starts in three outings since returning from the injured list in early September, although Saturday's performance marked his first win during that stretch. He lines up for a home start next week against the White Sox.

Hammered for seven runs Civale (10-4) allowed seven runs on seven hits and two walks over three innings Sunday, striking out three and taking a loss against the Brewers.
Impact A big chunk of the damage against Civale came via the long ball with Kolten Wong, Avisail Garcia and Manny Pina all knocking home runs off the Cleveland starter. He had allowed just six runs over his previous four starts combined and raised his season ERA to 3.76. The 26-year-old righty is 0-2 since returning from his lengthy stint on the injured list with a sprained finger. Civale is projected to face the Yankees on the road next weekend.
