WD's from THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson Zalatoris has withdrawn from THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson, PGA Tour Communications reports.

Impact No reason was given, but you just hope it's not related to the back, which has given Zalatoris issues for the last couple years. The Dallas native will unfortunately have to miss his hometown event. He last played a couple weeks ago at the RBC Heritage. Zalatoris will be hoping to return for the signature event next week at the Truist Championship. James Hahn will take his spot in the field at the Byron Nelson this week.

Season-high SG: Putting at Sawgrass Zalatoris carded a one-under 71 on Sunday at THE PLAYERS Championship to finish three-under and tied for 30th.

Impact Zalatoris found himself firmly in contention at TPC Sawgrass until a quadruple bogey on the par-4 14th hole during Round 3, before making the situation worse by playing holes 15-18 on Saturday in a collective five-over-par as well. Nonetheless, he finished the week ranked 13th among the field in SG: Approach en route to 19 total birdies and an eagle. Zalatoris also gained a season-high 3.5 strokes putting at THE PLAYERS. He'll tee it up again this week at Innisbrook for his Valspar Championship debut.

Struggles on greens at API Zalatoris fired a three-under 69 on Sunday at the Arnold Palmer Invitational to finish even-par and tied for 22nd.

Impact Zalatoris' final round at Bay Hill was highlighted by an eagle on the par-5 16th hole, where he stuck his 174-yard approach shot to just three feet. His ball striking was impressive throughout the week as he ultimately ranked top-6 among the field in each of SG: Off-the-Tee, SG: Approach and GIR percentage, but Zalatoris lost 6.1 strokes putting and he converted only one of five sand-save opportunities. He'll look to make short-game improvements at the upcoming PLAYERS Championship.
