Share of second at LIV Golf Chicago Ballester tied with Jon Rahm for second at LIV Golf Chicago after being defeated by Dean Burmester on the first playoff hole.

Impact Ballester surged to the top of the leaderboard with a five-under 66 second round that had him two strokes back of Burmester heading into Championship Sunday. Ballester was one-over through the front nine of the final round, but he caught fire to go three-under on the back, with his birdie on the par-4 18th forcing a three-way playoff. He was unable to force a second playoff hole after his birdie putt missed right, but it was a spectacular performance from the 21-year-old Spaniard, who has finished T23-T7-T2 over his last three LIV Golf outings. Ballester will have plenty of momentum heading into LIV Golf Indianapolis next weekend, the final tournament of the league's regular season.

First LIV Golf top-10 finish Ballester fired a bogey-free, six-under 65 in the final round at LIV Golf UK to finish tied with Patrick Reed and Adrian Meronk for seventh.

Impact Ballester started the tournament three-under through the first two rounds, but the 21-year-old Spaniard displayed his excellence in the final round that included a stretch of consecutive birdies from holes two to four. It was enough for Ballester to secure a top-10 finish in just his fourth LIV Golf tournament, and he now sits 42nd in the individual standings with 12.28 points, well outside the Drop Zone for relegation. He'll be in the field at LIV Golf Chicago in two weeks.

Impact Ballester made his LIV Golf debut after signing a multi-year contract with Fireballs GC. Perhaps the nerves of playing at the professional level played into Ballester's poor performance in Virginia, and he finished the tournament near the bottom of most statistical categories including driving accuracy (50th) and birdies made (T48). As the reigning U.S. Amateur champion, Ballester will be in the field this weekend at the U.S. Open at Oakmont.

Signs multi-year deal with LIV Golf Ballester has signed a multi-year contract with LIV Golf and will be apart of Fireballs GC captained by Sergio Garcia, Ben Nuckols of AP News reports.

Impact Ballester will make his professional debut this week at LIV Golf Virginia. As a result of the move, Luis Masaveu will move to a reserve role, but will be active at LIV Virginia with David Puig nursing a back injury. Ballester is the reigning U.S. Amateur champion and will also be in the field next week at the U.S. Open at Oakmont. He finished his senior season at Arizona State No. 3 in the PGA Tour University standings. Instead of accepting Korn Ferry Tour membership, Ballester elected to go in a different route and join some of his fellow Spaniards with the Fireballs. LIV Golf continues to invest heavily in going after young players who are more likely to give up any PGA Tour membership right out of college in return for a guaranteed money from the breakaway tour.
