It's a major disappointment for the two-time runner-up at the U.S. Open, and only time will tell how long this injury will keep the 38-year-old off the links.

MC after bogey on 18th hole Day missed the cut by one stroke at the Memorial Tournament after posting a six-over cumulative score.

Impact Day opened the tournament with a two-over 74 that was marred by a triple bogey on the par-4 sixth hole. He was three-over through 11 holes in the second round but was still on track to make the five-over cut line. However, his 11-foot par putt on the 18th hole drifted to the right, which eliminated Day from contention. Day's putter dragged him down, especially in the second round, when he lost 1.94 strokes on the green. It was his third missed cut of the season and first since early March at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Day will next tee off at the U.S. Open Championship, where he finished T23 last year and missed the cut in 2018, when the major was last hosted by Shinnecock Hills Golf Club.

However, he finished the Signature Event just 77th of 82 in SG: Off-the-Tee, hitting only 29 of 56 total fairways in regulation. Day slides five spots to No. 42 in the FedExCup standings, but he's now gained a collective 12.4 strokes putting over his past three starts.
