Settles for fourth in Hong Kong Varner III carded a one-under 69 during the final round of LIV Golf Hong Kong to finish fourth.

Impact Varner surged to the top of the leaderboard with scores of 64-63 on Friday and Saturday, and he entered the final round as part of the feature group with Thomas Detry and eventual winner Jon Rahm. Varner opened Sunday nicely with birdies on the first and third hole, but he quickly dropped out of contention with a bogey on the fourth and a double bogey on the par-4 ninth, though he was able to hang on to a top-5 finish thanks to back-to-back birdies on holes 11 and 12. It was a strong performance from the 33-year-old American, who entered Hong Kong having finished T30-T44 over the first two tournaments of the 2026 LIV Golf season. Varner will tee it up next week at LIV Golf Singapore, where he finished ninth in 2023, T32 in 2024 and T19 in 2025.

Fades after strong first round Varner III finished tied for fifth at LIV Golf Dallas with a five-under cumulative score.

Impact Varner was tied with eventual winner Patrick Reed for the clubhouse lead at the end of the first round after carding a five-under 67. Varner was able to recover from a three-over start in the second to finish the round even, and he was battling for a spot at the top of the leaderboard on Championship Sunday. He briefly held the lead after an eagle on the par-4 sixth and a birdie on the eighth, but he went two-over across the last 10 holes and fell one stroke short of a playoff. It was still a good outing for Varner, who finished in the top-5 of a LIV Golf tournament for the first time since LIV Golf Jeddah in 2023 (third), and he sits 18th in the individual season standings with 45.70 points. He is one of 18 LIV Golfers participating in the Final Qualifier for the Open Championship on Tuesday.

Impact Varner's accuracy was in display in Singapore, finishing T3 and T5 in GIR (79.63 percent) and driving accuracy (71.43 percent), respectively. However, he finished the tournament with just eight birdies, and part of that had to do with his performance on the putting green (1.72 putts per hole - T42). Varner has earned points in each of the first four LIV Golf tournaments of the season, but he may have had a podium finish to his name had his putting game been better. He'll look to improve on that part of his game heading into LIV Golf Miami, where he finished T21 in 2024.
