Wins LIV Golf debut in Riyadh Smylie win LIV Golf Riyadh by one stroke over Jon Rahm after carding a bogey-free, eight-under 64 in the final round.

Impact Smylie was signed by LIV Golf's Ripper GC -- captained by Cameron Smith -- in January after the former put together a solid 2025 season in the DP World Tour. Several new names were in the field in Riyadh, but the 23-year-old Smylie wasn't fazed under the lights as he surged past Peter Uihlein and Talor Gooch for the lead during the final round, and the young Australian did enough to fend off a late surge from Rahm. Smylie finished the tournament with one eagle, 24 birdies and two bogeys, with his two bogeys coming over the first two rounds of the tournament. He couldn't have started his LIV Golf career any better, and he'll have the fans firmly behind him in Adelaide next week.

Joining LIV Golf in 2026 Smylie has agreed to join LIV Golf for the 2026 season, Tom Kershaw of The Times reports.

Impact Smylie is coming off a solid season on the DP World Tour in which he finished 23rd in the Race to Dubai. The 23-year-old Queenslander is expected to join Cameron Smith's Ripper GC franchise, which already features a trio of Australian players. The DP World Tour allows LIV Golf players to participate in events, and it's likely for Smylie to continue to play on that tour on off weeks for LIV.
