Second in SG: Putting at Bay Hill McCarthy fired a five-under 67 on Sunday at the Arnold Palmer Invitational to finish two-under and alone in 18th place.
Impact McCarthy gained a season-high 7.1 strokes putting on the greens at Bay Hill, pacing the entire API field in total feet of putts made while gaining 2.43 strokes with his irons as well. He's yet to miss a single cut this season, rising to 26th in the early FedExCup standings ahead of the upcoming PLAYERS Championship where he's a perfect 5-for-5 in cuts made throughout his career at TPC Sawgrass.

Ties for 48th at PGA National McCarthy carded a two-under 69 on Sunday at the Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches to finish seven-under and tied for 48th.
Impact McCarthy made just one bogey throughout his final 27 holes at PGA National, but he also tallied only 13 total par-breakers across all four rounds. On a more positive note, he's now gained at least three strokes with his irons in three consecutive outings. McCarthy will peg it again this week at the Arnold Palmer Invitational where he's placed T48-T61-T26 in his last three trips to Bay Hill.

Unable to close out first win McCarthy had to settle for a share of fifth place after his one-under 71 in the final round of The Genesis Invitational.
Impact McCarthy looked like he was going to have a great shot for his first PGA Tour win after he made an eagle on the par-5 6th hole to take the lead. Unfortunately the putter just went cold after that and he didn't make another birdie until the par-5 18th with three bogeys mixed in the middle. It's surprising a player that was 45th in SG: Off-the-Tee could be in the mix on such a demanding driving course like Torrey Pines, but he made up for it by ranking 10th in SG: Approach, eighth in SG: Around and T14 in SG: Putting. McCarthy will have to wait until the Florida Swing to try to pick up that first PGA Tour win.

Struggles on Kapalua's greens McCarthy closed with a three-under 70 on Sunday at The Sentry to finish 12-under and tied for 46th.
Impact McCarthy was in attendance for the 2025 season opener after dealing with a torn hip labrum throughout the latter half of 2024, but he uncharacteristically lost five strokes putting on the greens at Kapalua this past week, finishing just 55th of 58 in SG: Putting and 52nd in putts per GIR. However, he still converted nine of 12 scrambling opportunities and he ranked T21 or better in both GIR percentage and driving accuracy. McCarthy is listed in the field again this week for the Sony Open in Hawaii where he gained a collective 12.4 strokes with his putter the last two years.

Finishes strong McCarthy shot a four-under 66 at the final round of The RSM Classic to finish tied for 25th place.
Impact The RSM Classic was McCarthy's first even since late August, as he's missed time due to a torn hip labrum. The 31-year-old came into Sunday's final round tied for 34th place but played well, birdieing four of his final 13 holes to finish T25. McCarthy helped himself out throughout the weekend by avoiding major mistakes, finishing with the 16th-fewest bogeys (six). He's now made the cut in four consecutive events and will look to continue building on these strong performances.
