Isaiah Jacobs - Out for remainder of 2024 Jacobs is out for the remainder of UAB's 2024 season due to a foot injury, freelance writer Steve Irvine reports.
Impact Like in 2023, a season-ending injury will cut a promising Jacobs season short. But this time, the running back was unable to replicate his previous success, even though he fared relatively well with 41 carries for 162 yards. Jacobs is expected to have one year of collegiate eligibility remaining.

Kam Shanks - Excellent in Saturday's loss Shanks totaled nine receptions (on 12 targets) for 119 yards during Saturday's 44-10 defeat versus Army.
Impact Shanks broke out with season highs across the board Saturday. He led the team in receptions (nine), targets (12) and yards (119) in the blowout loss as he clearly found a connection with Jalen Kitna in Kitna's second start. If Kitna starts again on Saturday at USF, Shanks could be a beneficiary.

Amare Thomas - Catches late touchdown Saturday Thomas accrued seven receptions (on nine targets) for 53 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 44-10 loss against Army.
Impact Thomas caught an eight-yard touchdown with two minutes left in Saturday's game, salvaging a productive day in the blowout loss. It marked his fourth touchdown of the season. He also caught a season-high seven passes, his fourth time in the last five games with five or more catches. He has been targeted 19 times in the last two games with Jalen Kitna, so he may benefit if Kitna starts again on Saturday at USF.

Lee Beebe Jr. - Quiet as lead back Beebe had nine rushes for 36 yards and hauled in their only target for six yards during Saturday's 44-10 loss versus Army.
Impact Beebe ran for a season-low 36 yards Saturday, which is not that surprising considering his team fell into a deficit early. He still dominated the rushing attempts among running backs which is a good sign heading into the back half of the season. He should be able to produce more Saturday at South Florida.

Jalen Kitna - Improves in second start Kitna completed 25 of 39 passes for 242 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions during Saturday's 44-10 loss versus Army. He also had eight rushes for negative nine yards.
Impact Kitna made his second straight start Saturday with Jacob Zeno (shoulder) out and performed much better than he did in the first outing. He completed 64 percent of his passes and threw a touchdown to Amare Thomas, however he threw another two interceptions, bringing him up to five in two starts. If Zeno is unable to go again Saturday at USF, Kitna will be in line to start once again.

Iverson Hooks - Another solid outing Hooks tallied six receptions (on 10 targets) for 53 yards during Saturday's 71-20 defeat to Tulane.
Impact Hooks was very involved in the Blazers' passing game once again Saturday as he was tied for the team lead in targets with 10 and caught the most passes on the team with six. He gained over 50 yards for the second straight game as well. It appears UAB has found something they like in the redshirt freshman, so he is worth keeping an eye on as the season progresses.

Impact Thomas scored a 73-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter Saturday, a play which salvaged a strong individual performance despite the blowout loss. It marked Thomas' third touchdown of the season. He tied a season high with five receptions Saturday and set season highs with 98 yards and 10 targets. Even with a different quarterback throwing him the ball, Thomas showed that he is the team's No. 1 passing option.

Impact Beebe logged 98 yards from scrimmage Saturday, his second most this season. He did it on just 11 touches too, so it was a fairly efficient day despite his team losing by 51 points. Beebe has found a way to stay relevant despite the Blazers poor performances as he has gained at least 82 yards in every game this season.

Jalen Kitna - Struggles in debut Kitna was 20-for-41 passing for 239 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions during Saturday's 71-20 defeat to Tulane.
Impact Kitna made his UAB debut Saturday and it did not go great. He completed fewer than 50 percent of his 41 attempts and threw three interceptions, two of which were returned for touchdowns. He did throw one touchdown though, a 73-yard strike to Amare Thomas in the fourth quarter. If Jacob Zeno (shoulder) is unable to go again on Saturday at Army, Kitna will likely start again.
