Cade Conley - Five snaps, zero touches Conley (knee) participated in five snaps but logged zero touches during Marshall's 45-3 win Saturday against Stony Brook.

Impact Conley recently recovered from a knee injury first shown during Marshall's fall camp. Considering that only one of the tight end's five snaps resulted in a pass, he can be forgiven for not logging any targets Saturday. But as 2024 continues, Conley is expected to have increased his snap count and statistical output. He recorded 23 receptions for 215 yards and one touchdown during the Thundering Herd's 2023 season.

Christian Fitzpatrick - Catches 67-yard touchdown Fitzpatrick reeled in 4 of 7 targets for 97 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 45-3 win versus Stony Brook.

Impact Fitzpatrick caught two passes from starting QB Stone Earle and backup QB Braylon Braxton during the blowout, with the 67-yard score coming from Braxton in the fourth quarter. With the WR room wide open, Fitzpatrick could elevate to the top pass catcher in his first season at Marshall.

Elijah Metcalf - Scores twice in opener Metcalf caught all three targets for 50 yards and two touchdowns during Saturday's 45-3 victory against Stony Brook.

Impact Metcalf established a connection with starting quarterback Stone Earle on Saturday, with both of his touchdowns coming from the arm of Earle. Metcalf transferred in from Middle Tennessee State, where he caught 54 passes for 634 yards and six touchdowns in 2023.

Jordan Houston - Splits carries in opener Houston totaled nine carries for 38 yards and caught 0 of 1 targets for zero yards during Saturday's 45-3 win over Stony Brook.

Impact Houston joined Marshall via the transfer portal from NC State and operated as part of a three-man committee on the ground Saturday. Houston led the Thundering Herd with carries but A.J. Turner (eight rushes, 119 yards) and Ethan Payne (five rushes, 38 yards) also saw significant work.

A.J. Turner - Rips off long TD run Turner compiled eight carries for 119 yards and one touchdown and reeled in their only target for 19 yards during Saturday's 45-3 victory against Stony Brook.

Impact While Marshall split carries between Turner, Jordan Houston (nine rushes) and Ethan Payne (five rushes), Turner was the only tailback to surpass 40 yards. Most of Turner's 119 yards came on one play, rushing for an 80-yard score late in the first quarter. Taking out the splash play, Turner still averaged over five yards per carry.

Impact Earle beat Braylon Braxton and Cole Pennington out for the starting quarterback job and served as such for the first two and a half quarters before Marshall put in the backups. Earle began the day 2-for-7 through the air but settled in afterward, throwing a pair of touchdowns to Elijah Metcalf while adding 55 yards on the ground. While Braxton showed well in the second half, Earle should remain the team's starter heading into a Week 2 matchup at Virginia Tech.
