Will start Week 5 Wilson will start over Julian Lewis in Saturday's game against Texas Tech, Pete Nakos of On3.com reports.

Impact A day after it was reported that Wilson was likely to start over Lewis in Week 5, Nakos confirmed the quarterback change, with Wilson set to log his first start since 2024. Wilson replaced Lewis during Week 4 at Baylor, and despite completing less than half of his 25 pass attempts, he recorded 12 completions for 156 yards and one touchdown without any turnovers. Ideally for Wilson, with Week 5 marking his first start in years, he can live up to the opportunity despite a difficult opponent against him.

Prime Dilemma: Deion Sanders Considering Benching QB Julian Lewis For Isaac Wilson

Expected to draw start in Week 5 Wilson is expected to take over as Colorado's starting quarterback in Week 5 against Texas Tech, per Matt Zenitz of CBSSports.com.

Impact Wilson appears slated to replace Julian Lewis, the second-year former blue-chip recruit who's had a rough go of it this season. His numbers don't look terrible on paper, but they do when you consider the fact that most of his production came in the Buffaloes' win over FCS Weber State. The Utah transfer Wilson, meanwhile, has tossed for 153 yards and one touchdown while completing 51.9% of his passes in relief this fall.

Inefficient in relief effort Wilson completed 12 of 25 passes for 156 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 23-13 loss to Baylor. He also had five rushes for -11 yards.

Impact Wilson replaced Julian Lewis at halftime Saturday after another poor outing from the starter. Wilson got the offense going a bit better and connected with Joseph Williams for a touchdown to tie the game in the fourth quarter, but he completed fewer than 50 percent of his passes in the loss. It's too early to tell who will start Saturday in a difficult matchup versus Texas Tech.
