Impact While Reid's volume was abnormally low, he dominated rushing work before the game got out of hand. He was the only running back to log a carry until the 10-minute mark of the second quarter, when Juelz Goff logged back-to-back carries inside the five yard line. Reid's last run came with 11:53 left in the third quarter. Most of Reid's production came on a 53-yard touchdown scamper right after halftime. It was his second big play of the game, as he housed a punt return early in the first quarter. The senior tailback didn't log fewer than 11 carries in a game last season, and he's expected to see a significantly larger workload in close games than he did in the season opener.

Season-high carry count in bowl game Reid recorded 32 carries for 165 yards and one touchdown and gathered in 5 of 6 targets for 15 yards during Thursday's 48-46 overtime defeat against Toledo.

Impact Unsurprisingly, the Panthers leaned on Reid in the bowl game a bit more than usual with starting quarterback Eli Holstein (ankle) out and backup Nate Yarnell in the transfer portal. It didn't help that the game required six overtimes to reach its conclusion, adding to Reid's season-best output. The junior fell just of 1,000 rushing yards for the season but finished with 183 carries for 962 yards and five scores, adding a ton of value as a receiver, totaling 52 catches for 579 yards and four touchdowns. Reid has already announced he'll return for the Panthers in 2025, and he'll certainly remain atop the depth chart.

Impact Reid was limited on the ground in Pittsburgh's convincing loss to SMU. Still, he remained one of the top receiving backs in the nation - he caught six passes for 44 yards, and could've had much more as he racked up 12 targets. Pittsburgh gets Reid the ball any way it can, and that won't change next week in a much less daunting game against Virginia.

Bottled up in big win Reid notched 11 carries for 47 yards during Thursday's 41-13 win against Syracuse.

Impact Pittsburgh's offense didn't need to do much while its defense recorded three pick-sixes, and thus, it needed its star tailback Reid very little. His 11 carries matched a season low, and it was also his first game without logging a reception. Still, Reid remains an integral part of this offense and will look to bounce back next week in a huge game against SMU.
