Impact Unsurprisingly, one of college football's Power Conference teams successfully recruited Simmons despite his 2025 season. Despite beginning it as Mississippi's starting quarterback, he suffered a relatively long-term injury long enough for fellow signal-caller Trinidad Chambliss to excel. Pre-injury, the three games of Simmons' 2025 season saw him log 34 completed passes, 580 passing yards and five touchdowns. While still part of Ole Miss for the College Football Playoff, he will transfer to Missouri thereafter.

Impact Starter Trinidad Chambliss breezed through the Citadel defense for 300+ yards and three touchdowns before eventually turning things over to Simmons.
