No longer a Bulldog
Mitchell entered the transfer portal Wednesday, per DawgNation.
Impact
Mitchell is now slated to leave Georgia after two seasons and two National Championship victories with the program. As a true freshman in 2021, the 6-foot-4 wide receiver reeled in 29 passes for 426 yards and four scores. He was ultimately limited to just six games played this past season due to a lingering ankle issue, but he still posted nine receptions for 134 yards and three touchdowns as a sophomore. Mitchell's rumored landing destination appears to be Texas at the moment, but after hauling in four receiving scores in four career playoff outings, any school appears up for grabs.

Targeting a return Saturday
Head coach Kirby Smart said he's hopeful that Mitchell (ankle) will be available to play Saturday against Auburn, Marc Weiszer of the Athens Banner-Herald reports.
Impact
Mitchell suffered an ankle injury during the Bulldogs' second game against Samford, but he's been unable to return to the field since. The 6-foot-4 receiver traveled to Missouri and warmed up with the team Saturday, indicating that he's got a good shot to play against Auburn in Week 6. If Mitchell is indeed cleared for action, expect him to operate as Georgia's No. 1 wideout.

Makes trip with team
Mitchell (ankle) has traveled with the team on Saturday to play Missouri and is doing preliminary warmups, Seth Emerson of The Athletic reports.
Impact
Mitchell is warming up with strength and conditioning coach Scott Sinclair, and Emerson notes that players who do that typically don't play. However, this does bode well that if the sophomore wideout doesn't return Saturday, he likely will next week against Auburn. If Mitchell remains out, expect Ladd McConkey to be Georgia's top receiver.

Could play against Missouri
Mitchell has a chance to play against Missouri, Seth Emerson of The Athletic reports.
Impact
Mitchell hasn't played since the Bulldogs week two contest with Samford, and has only logged five catches for 69 yards and one touchdown this season. Georgia head coach Kirby Smart is "hopeful" the wideout will be able to return to action this week. If Mitchell does return, he should resume his role as the No.1 receiver in Georgia's offense.

Not dressed Saturday
Mitchell (ankle) is not dressed for the game versus Kent State on Saturday, Seth Emerson of The Athletic reports.
Impact
This will be the second game in a row that Micthell is not able to go. The Georgia offense will likely be fine against a cupcake like Kent State but will hope they can get their number one wideout back in time for SEC play.

Questionable for Saturday
Mitchell (ankle) is questionable for Saturday's game against Kent State, Jordan D. Hill of 247Sports.com reports.
Impact
Mitchell exited the game during Georgia's matchup with Samford on Sept. 10, with an ankle injury, and he did not return to the contest. The sophomore wideout was also unavailable for Saturday's matchup with South Carolina, but head coach Kirby Smart is hopeful that he will be able to return this weekend. Mitchell is expected to be the top-target in the Bulldogs' offense this season, and the 6-foot-4 sophomore tallied four receptions for 65 yards and a touchdown in the season-opener against Oregon. If Mitchell is unable to return this week, Ladd McConkey and Dominick Blaylock should continue to see expanded roles for the Bulldogs.

Does not travel for Week 3
Mitchell (ankle) did not make the trip for Saturday's game against South Carolina, Radi Nabulsi of Rivals.com reports.
Impact
Georgia will be missing its top wideout for Saturday's game in Columbia. Along with Ladd McConkey and Kearis Jackson, look for Dillon Bell and Jackson Meeks to see some snaps out wide in Mitchell's stead.

Looking less likely to play Week 3
Mitchell (ankle) is "doubtful right now" for Saturday's game against South Carolina, Marc Weiszer of the Athens Banner-Herald reports.
Impact
Coach Kirby Smart provided the update Wednesday after saying earlier in the week that Mitchell was hopeful to suit up against the Gamecocks. If Mitchell is unable to go, Georgia will be without its top receiver and could steer more of the passing game towards the tight ends. Dillon Bell, who impressed in Week 2, could also see more reps alongside Ladd McConkey and Kearis Jackson.

Bright spot in camp
Mitchell is making a strong impression in the lead-up to the season, 247 Sports reports.
Impact
Georgia has been hit hard by the injury bug in the receiver room with George Pickens, Jermaine Burton and Dominick Blaylock all tending to injuries of varying severities. This has opened the door for Mitchell, who starred in the spring game and has apparently carried that momentum into the summer. Burton and Kearis Jackson project as the top two at receiver, but Mitchell has a chance to carve out a role right away.
