Impact Soumaoro was deemed questionable leading up to this game as he dealt with personal issues but was able to suit up in the end. He will look to build on this performance during Saturday's meeting with Duke.

Impact Thiam matched fellow newcomers Baba Miller and Shon Abaev with a team-high 18 points as the Bearcats cruised to an opening-night victory. Thiam joins Cincinnati with plenty of Big 12 experience after having averaged 10.4 points, 6.4 boards and 2.6 blocks as a true freshman last season for UCF. The 7-foot-2 center is expected to be one of the top big men in the country this season and teams with Baba Miller to form one of the most formidable front courts in the Big 12.
