AP Preseason All-Americans: Who could be there at season's end?

Liam Robbins - Not expected full-go to open season Robbins (foot) should be back fully practicing by the first week of November and will likely be full-go by the third week of November, Aria Gerson of The Tennessean reports.

Impact Robbins was still limited during practice Wednesday and apparently will remain that way over the next week or so. It doesn't appear as though he will be ready for a full workload to open the season, though it's possible the big man could handle a limited role off the bench.

Impact Robbins still has a couple of weeks to get up to speed ahead of the regular season, so his limited participation shouldn't be too worrisome at this point. It will be worth keeping tabs on how his participation level progresses over the next week or two, however.

Scotty Pippen - Named SEC Preseason POY Pippen was named the 2021-22 SEC Preseason Player of the Year on Tuesday.

Impact Pippen could have gone pro after an outstanding sophomore season, but ultimately elected to return as Vanderbilt's chief scorer once again. HIs 20.8 ppg average from a season ago is the highest mark of any returning power-conference player, and he achieved that with an efficient 42.8 percent shooting, along with 4.9 dimes per contest. Despite that success, however, Vanderbilt is still projected to finish as a bottom-2 team in the conference. Joining Pippen on the preseason all-SEC first team are Jaden Shackelford (Alabama), Jahvon Quinerly (Alabama), Colin Castleton (Florida), Sahvir Wheeler (Kentucky) and Iverson Molinar (Mississippi State).

Liam Robbins - To begin ramping up next week Coach Jerry Stackhouse relayed Thursday that Robbins (foot) will begin ramping up his basketball activities next week, Aria Gerson of The Tennessean reports.

Impact The initial prognosis for Robbins from just over a week ago was that he should be back in a few weeks, so his progress next week should be a telling sign on that front. If he can avoid setbacks, Robbins should have a good chance to take the floor for the Nov. 10 opener versus Alabama State.

Impact The team wants to be very careful with its prized transfer from Minnesota. With this estimated timetable, Robbins should be good to return from the first regular season game. He should immediately start at center for Vandy.

Liam Robbins - Doesn't participate in pro day Robbins (ankle) did not participate in a recent Vanderbilt pro day, Robbie Weinstein of 247 Sports reports.

Impact Robbins missed the last six games of his junior season at Minnesota with what was described as an ankle injury, but it's not immediately clear whether the two issues are related. It could simply be a load management issue for the 7-0 senior, who is currently expected to step in and take over as the starting center, filling the shoes of Clevon Brown and Dylan Disu. Hopefully, more clarity will emerge prior to the team's Nov. 10 opener against Alabama State.
