Marial Akuentok - Warmed up before Tuesday's loss Akuentok (lower body) warmed up before Tuesday's loss to Houston but didn't play, according to Nathan Giese of the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal.

Impact Akuentok went through two-thirds of Tuesday's warmup, but he's trending in the right direction. He doesn't have a return date yet, but the forward could be back on the court soon if he continues to progress.

His three-point shooting has also improved, helped by the fact that Atwell is 8-for-19 from distance through two games of league play. He's scored 13 or more in three straight and will look to keep it going Saturday at Colorado.

After coming off the bench through his first 11 appearances, the freshman wing has started the last three and has responded by matching that season-best 20-point output during two of those three contests. Petty had averaged 7.2 points and 3.2 rebounds across 26.5 minutes when coming off the bench but has taken a big step forward in the few games since being inserted into the starting lineup. Across 32.0 minutes in his three starts, he has elevated his averages to 17.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.3 steals while shooting 61.5-percent from the floor and 52.4-percent from long range.

Impact Watts put together a nice performance during his Big 12 conference debut, falling just one rebound shy of what would have been his second double double of the season. The junior forward tallied just four points against Winthrop in the Red Raiders' final game of the non-conference slate but he rebounded in a big way by scoring at least 19 points for the fifth time this season. Watts has been an important third wheel for Texas Tech thus far, complimenting JT Toppin and Christian Anderson with averages of 14.1 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.8 assists while shooting better than 50-percent from the floor.
