LSU Basketball Defeated by No. 5 Tennessee The Tigers lost to the Volunteers, 65-59.

Cam Carter - Still drops 12 on ice-cold night Carter contributed 12 points (3-10 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 5-5 FT), one rebound and two assists in 35 minutes during Tuesday's 65-59 loss to Tennessee.
Impact Carter could hardly buy a basket from the field, but his perfect 5-for-5 showing from the free-throw line helped salvage his performance from a scoring standpoint. Still, all of those misses proved costly, as LSU lost by just six to the No. 5-ranked Tennessee Volunteers.

Vyctorius Miller - Best showing in a start yet Miller registered 17 points (6-11 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 2-3 FT), three rebounds and one steal over 27 minutes during Tuesday's 65-59 loss to Tennessee.
Impact Miller has started the past four games for LSU, but his contributions in a narrow loss to Tennessee were his best outing yet. The freshman guard dropped 17 points on 55 percent shooting from the field, including three triples. Miller cooled off towards the start of SEC play after an excellent start to his season, but he appears to be finding his stride again at the right time as the 2024-2025 campaign begins to wind down.

Jordan Gainey - Minimal impact in narrow win Gainey contributed five points (2-7 FG, 1-3 3Pt), two rebounds, one assist and two steals in 17 minutes during Tuesday's 65-59 win over LSU.
Impact Gainey didn't contribute all that much in Tennessee's narrow win over LSU. The bench guard, who averages 10.5 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.1 steals this season, saw the least playing time he has all season with just 17 minutes. He'll look to bounce back with a more complete performance Saturday in a huge clash with Alabama.

Zakai Zeigler - Drops 17 vs. LSU Zeigler amassed 17 points (6-14 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 4-6 FT), three assists and two steals in 35 minutes during Tuesday's 65-59 win over LSU.
Impact Zeigler struggled with his efficiency, but that appears to be an exception to the rule if anything for the point guard who's shot 55.9 percent from the field since February. His 17 points were just enough to help the Volunteers eek out a surprisingly narrow victory against the Tigers, and he'll now look towards a massive showdown with No. 6 Alabama on Saturday.

Jahmai Mashack - Nine boards in win Mashack contributed nine points (2-5 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 4-6 FT), eight rebounds, one assist and one steal in 36 minutes during Tuesday's 65-59 win over LSU.
Impact Mashack hasn't been known as a big-time scorer with the Volunteers, but he continued to do what's helped him carve out a starting role in Knoxville: rebounding, defense and taking good shots within head coach Rick Barnes' system. That's exactly what he'll need to continue to do as Tennessee tries to lock up a No. 2, or possibly even No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament.

Chaz Lanier - Cools off slightly vs LSU Lanier chipped in 14 points (5-11 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 1-2 FT) and nine rebounds across 36 minutes during Tuesday's 65-59 victory over LSU.
Impact The Tigers really made Tennessee work for it, but the Volunteers ultimately pulled it out for their third straight win. There were no heroics from Lanier on Tuesday night with the guard coming off a huge 30-point performance in the win over Texas A&M, but his 14 points and nine rebounds on just under 50 percent shooting from the field was more than enough.
