Nigel James Jr. - Scores 25 in Wednesday's loss James ended with 25 points (11-21 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-5 FT), four rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal across 35 minutes during Wednesday's 76-70 loss to St. John's. Impact Coming off his best performance of the season where he scored 30 points and dished out 12 assists at Xavier, James had another strong outing Wednesday. He scored 25 points for the fourth time this season, shooting over 50 percent from the field versus a very good St. John's team. He only dished out three assists though, tied for his fewest since Nov. 12. It was a continuation of an excellent freshman season for James, and he's been particularly good since the start of 2026. He's now averaging 20.1 points, 3.5 rebounds, 6.1 assists and 1.8 steals since the start of the new year, establishing himself as one of the most prolific guards in the country.
