Major improvements in second season Ball provided 16 points (5-9 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 4-5 FT), four rebounds, two assists and one steal across 37 minutes during Sunday's 87-84 victory over Providence.

Impact Ball continues to show drastic growth from his freshman to sophomore seasons with the Huskies, and now that he's a full-time starter, his scoring has skyrocketed to 13.4 ppg. It's not just the added volume, however, as he's putting up those numbers on an efficient 46.5 percent shooting (44.9 percent from distance). There's also a consistency factor that's been stellar for fantasy managers, as in 15 starts, he's only failed to reach double figures twice.

Impact Ball didn't contribute a lot other than on the offensive side of the ball, though he tied his season-high mark of 16 points for the third time this year. The sophomore guard also stayed involved heavily during the matchup, with his fourth game in the last five games with 30 or more minutes. This bodes well for his future output, especially for this upcoming Saturday against Gonzaga.

Impact Ball played well in the Huskies' exhibition game, and appears to have parlayed that into a starting spot in the opener. Roles were reportedly very up-for-grabs up and down UConn's depth chart this season, and Ball looks like one of the players to take early advantage of that.

Impact Ball was certainly efficient in just 20 minutes of action. He was part of the UConn starting five along with Alex Karaban, Liam McNeeley, Samson Johnson and Hassan Diarra. St. Mary's transfer Aidan Mahaney, who is the most likely candidate to take Ball's starting spot once the season starts, also had a good game scoring 17 points in 23 minutes of action. UConn opens the regular season on Nov. 6 against Sacred Heart.

Impact Ball saw significant run earlier in the season and even started a 10-game stretch while Stephon Castle was battling a knee injury, but Ball's playing time has dipped significantly of late. He saw just a combined three minutes over UConn's last two games before sitting out entirely for the first time all season Saturday. No word of an injury has surfaced, so it looks like Ball is simply a victim of the rotation tightening up down the stretch.
