Labaron Philon Jr. - Doles out seven assists Philon had 11 points (5-14 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 0-1 FT), four rebounds, seven assists, one block and three steals over 28 minutes during Thursday's 87-80 loss to Purdue.
Impact After scoring a combined 47 points in the first two games of the season, Philon was held to less than half of his previous average. He found ways to contribute by setting up teammates and having active hands on defense, but it wasn't quite enough to push the Tide to what would have been a second straight big win. Credit coach Nate Oats for scheduling Alabama tough. Up next is Illinois against whom Philon had 16 points, seven rebounds and nine assists in the early season tournament win last year.
