Corey Floyd - May be available Monday Floyd (leg) may be available for Monday's game against Holy Cross, according to Bill Koch of The Providence Journal.
Impact Fortunately for Floyd, his injured leg's MRI featured a clean result, hence why he may be available Monday. Quantitatively, the senior has improved every Providence season, culminating with 9.2 points and 4.8 rebounds per game during his 2024-25 campaign. Based on that trajectory, Floyd is on pace to reach at least 10.0 PPG and 5.0 RPG during 2025-26.

Corey Floyd - Should be available for opener Floyd (leg) should be available for Providence's opener against Holy Cross, per Jacob Rousseau of ProvidenceJournal.com.
Impact Floyd was dealing with what was considered a minor knee injury this offseason, but after he starter for the Friars in their exhibition game against Pittsburgh, it seemed like a foregone conclusion that he'd be available for the opener. The 6-foot-4 guard is coming off a career year as a junior, averaging 9.2 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.0 assists across 25 games.

Ryan Mela - Seven rebounds during exhibition Mela (lower leg) logged four points (1-4 FG, 2-3 FT), seven rebounds and one steal in 17 minutes during Pittsburgh's exhibition game Sunday against Providence.
Impact Mela came off Providence's bench, and it comes off as a reasonable benching considering the Friar depth available. As a starter last season, he particular showed promise in his last three games, averaging 14.7 points and 6.3 rebounds.
OCTOBER 19 • ROTOWIRE
Corey Floyd - Starting in exhibition game Floyd (knee) is starting in Sunday's exhibition game at Pittsburgh, according to Bill Koch of The Providence Journal.
Impact Considering that Floyd's previous knee injury was not a long-term concern, him being available Sunday should not be so surprising. Still, it is a welcome development, especially with the Friars' ongoing injury bug and his longtime tenure with them. Their 2024-25 season saw Floyd establish himself as a regular starter. In 25 starts, he logged 9.9 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game.
OCTOBER 19 • ROTOWIRE
Rich Barron - Expected to be full-go soon Barron (groin) is still unable to practice with full contact but is expected to be a full go shortly, per Bill Koch of The Providence Journal.
Impact Barron is still limited with his groin injury, but this is a positive update for the junior forward, one that suggests he's on his way to healing fully by the time the season tips off in November. Last season, Barron averaged 5.2 points and 2.3 rebounds across 18.9 minutes with nine starts in 27 games.
SEPTEMBER 30 • ROTOWIRE
Ryan Mela - Donning light brace Mela (undisclosed) has his right ankle in a light brace, per Bill Koch of The Providence Journal.
Impact It's unclear what ailment Mela is dealing with, but he appears somewhat limited in the preseason for the Friars. The sophomore forward had a solid freshman season, playing in 29 games with nine starts, averaging 6.2 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.9 assists across 19.5 minutes. Mela will look to heal up before the season tips off in early November.
SEPTEMBER 30 • ROTOWIRE
Corey Floyd - Tending to minor knee injury Floyd bumped knees with another player in practice, but the injury isn't a long-term concern, Bill Koch of The Providence Journal reports.
Impact Floyd should recover from the injury in time for the Friars' regular-season opener, but it could provide a setback in his preseason activities. The 6-foot-4 senior averaged 9.2 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 28.9 minutes per game with Providence last season.
SEPTEMBER 30 • ROTOWIRE
Jaylin Sellers - Ready to roll for Friars Sellers (back) is participating in practice, per college basketball journalist Kevin McNamara.
Impact Sellers played in just three games last season for UCF, and he elected to transfer to the Friars this offseason. Now, not only is he healthy, but he's reportedly showing out in practice with "bounce and excellent speed" according to McNamara. He should quickly factor in with Providence.
JULY 29 • ROTOWIRE
Rich Barron - Dealing with minor groin injury Barron (groin) sustained a minor groin injury, per Bill Koch of The Providence Journal.
Impact The forward is currently being held out of practice as a precaution. Barron is coming off a solid sophomore campaign with the Friars, averaging 5.2 points and 2.3 rebounds across 18.9 minutes in 27 appearances. His availability for the regular season, at least for now, doesn't appear to be in jeopardy.

Duncan Powell - Returning to college Powell is part of the 2025-26 roster for Providence, meaning he's not longer eligible for the upcoming 2025 NBA Draft.
Impact It seems Powell withdrew his name from the draft, so he should be one of the top players for the Friars in 2025-26. He averaged 12.2 points and 5.4 rebounds per game while shooting 36 percent from distance for Georgia Tech in the 2024-25 campaign.

Duncan Powell - Exploring NBA Draft Powell has entered his name into the 2025 NBA Draft process, Alex Farrer of Rivals.com reports.
Impact Powell will explore opportunities at the professional level while keeping the door open for a return to college. The 6-foot-8 junior, who has previously appeared with North Carolina A&T, Sacramento and Georgia Tech, has chosen Providence if he opts to return to school for the 2025-26 season.

Duncan Powell - Picks Friars Powell will transfer to Providence, per Joe Tipton of On3.com.
Impact Powell initially committed to Georgetown in early April, but recently re-opened his recruitment and has since quickly flipped to Providence. The forward was productive in 2024-2025 with Georgia Tech, averaging 12.2 points and 5.4 rebounds while shooting 36 percent from distance at 6-foot-8. He's a big pickup for Providence and should have a great shot to start immediately.
APRIL 21 • ROTOWIRE
Jaylin Sellers - Moving to Providence Sellers has committed to Providence for the 2025-26 season, Dushawn London of 247Sports.com reports.
Impact Sellers was limited to just three appearances all season long in 2024-25, and he last played on Jan. 5 due to a nagging back problem. He's looking for a fresh start, and that's what he should get with the Friars.
APRIL 4 • ROTOWIRE
Jason Edwards - Lands at Providence Edwards will transfer to Providence, per Joe Tipton of On3.com.
Impact Edwards also elected to enter his name into the NBA Draft, but he'll ultimately transfer to the Friars for his senior season after a prolific year at Vanderbilt that saw him average 17.0 points per-game after posting 19.2 points per-game with North Texas the year prior. Edwards should instantly become a top scoring threat for Providence.

Which coaches have the most Final Four appearances in NCAA men's tournament history?
Daquan Davis - Commits to Providence Davis has committed to Providence, Nick Kosko of On3.com.
Impact Before beginning his collegiate career with Florida State, Davis changed his mind from a previous commitment to Providence. Davis began his 2024-25 season and collegiate career as a reserve before making his way up to Florida State's starting point guard. The PG's role eventually dropped, but he remained a vital part of FSU's rotation that it would make sense for other teams to take a chance on him. Florida State let go of Leonard Hamilton, who recruited Davis, and Providence's team is in need of a point guard to replace Bensley Joseph. Enter Davis, whose first season includes averages of 8.8 points, 2.5 assists and 2.3 rebounds.
APRIL 2 • ROTOWIRE
Cole Hargrove - Commits to Providence Hargrove committed to Providence on Wednesday, according to The Portal Report.
Impact Hargrove will change teams from Drexel. As a junior enrolled there, he served as Providence's primary center. Hargrove logged 9.9 points and 7.5 rebounds per game while shooting 58.6 percent from the field and 67.6 percent from the free-throw line. Currently, Hargrove's primary center competition is Oswin Erhunmwunse.
