Impact Since an opening-night loss to BYU, Villanova has won five in row, and Perkins has scored eight or more points in each game. Tuesday was a season high in both scoring and rebounding, continuing a positive trajectory for the junior guard. While his minutes have actually taken a slight decrease compared to 2024-25 when he primarily came off the bench, Perkins has increased both his scoring (11.0 ppg) and rebounding (5.0 rpg) averages. He shot just 21.1 percent from beyond the arc over his first five games, but if Tuesday is a sign of him turning the corner in that area, look for the bigger scoring games to tally up quickly.

Impact Lewis may have struggled in his collegiate debut against a tough BYU squad, but he bounced back with a 21-point effort in his next game against Queens and has scored a dozen or more in four of his last five. Tuesday's effort was his second-best scoring output of the year, and all things considered, his freshman season has gotten off to a strong start. He's posted respectable averages of 13.5 ppg and 5.2 apg, and has collected a total of 31 assists compared to just 12 turnovers. Villanova has won every game it has played since that opening-night loss, with Lewis continuing to take the bulk of the point guard minutes.
