Amare Bynum - Nears double-double in loss Bynum registered nine points (4-9 FG, 1-2 3Pt), nine rebounds, one assist and two blocks in 34 minutes during Monday's 72-69 loss to Nebraska.

Impact Bynum has nine points in two consecutive games, but at least against Nebraska, he was active on the glass with nine boards as well. The forward has moved into the starting lineup for the past four games, and is averaging 10.3 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists in that span. The freshman forward appears to be trending in the right direction as the Buckeyes brace for the meat of Big Ten play.

Devin Royal - Strong outing not enough Royal closed Monday's 72-69 loss to Nebraska with 14 points (5-8 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 4-6 FT), six rebounds, two assists and one steal over 37 minutes.

Impact Royal had yet another strong performance for the Buckeyes, but it wasn't enough to beat Nebraska, who look like destiny's team a week into 2026. The junior forward has his double-digit points in 10 straight games for the Buckeyes, and though he's been cold from distance in his last three outings, hitting just 1-of-9 shots, he's shooting a carer-best 35.6 percent from beyond the arc this season.

Bruce Thornton - Leading scorer in narrow loss Thornton notched 16 points (6-12 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, seven assists and one steal across 38 minutes during Monday's 72-69 loss to Nebraska.

Impact Thornton remained dynamic as the Buckeyes dropped a narrow one to red-hot Nebraska. The guard shot 50 percent from the field and dished out seven assists, his second-highest total of the season in that department. Thornton is having a career year in every category for the Buckeyes, and needs to continue his strong play if Ohio State is going to stay afloat in a brutal Big Ten.

John Mobley Jr. - Puts up 22 in loss Mobley posted 22 points (8-17 FG, 5-13 3Pt, 1-1 FT), two rebounds and one assist in 36 minutes during Monday's 72-69 loss to Nebraska.

Impact While the Buckeyes fell short, Mobley had his second 20-point game in his last three outings and his sixth in a row in double figures. While most of his production comes from pure scoring, Mobley continues to be a reliable asset given he's improved both his three-point and field-goal percentage a few points in his sophomore season, resulting in a career-best 14.6 ppg scoring average.
