Efficient shooting in defeat Johnson recorded 18 points (6-7 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 5-6 FT), four rebounds, two assists and two blocks over 30 minutes during Saturday's 91-88 loss to Wisconsin.

Impact Johnson turned in his worst scoring total of the season the previous Tuesday against Penn State, due largely to foul trouble, but the Wolverines were still able to hold off a valiant charge from the Nittany Lions. They were as lucky Saturday, as Michigan suffered its first loss of the season -- on its home court no less. Johnson at least had an efficient shooting day and a performance more reflective of what he's been able to accomplish so far this year.

Impact Johnson is in the midst of a career year, but it was just his second double-double of the season as Michigan rolled on ahead of Big Ten play. His 24 points also matched his season high, and he did it on 66.7 percent shooting from the field. Johnson has been a revelation in Ann Arbor, and he's established himself as a key piece on this Wolverines squad that looks like its about to do some damage in the Big Ten.

Impact Fellow frontcourt transfer Yaxel Lendeborg received most of the hype this offseason (and in fantasy rankings), but Johnson has only been a tick behind in production. His minutes have grown compared to last season at Illinois, and now as a full-time starter, the 6-9 center is posting career-best averages of 13.4 ppg and 6.7 rpg. He's also improved tremendously from the charity stripe, upping his free-throw percentage a full 16 points to 77.8. The duo of Johnson and Lendeborg, plus 7-3 Aday Mara, has helped lead Michigan to the best two-point field-goal percentage both made and allowed in the entire country, and the stout frontcourt a big part of the reason the Wolverines remain undefeated.
