Still not practicing
Robbins (ankle) is still not practicing according to coach Richard Pitino, Marcus Fuller of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Impact
Robbins has been dealing with an ankle injury for the last couple weeks that his limited in games pretty heavily. Coach Pitino has been mixing things up in practice trying to test different lineups to see how they fair without Robbins taking up the middle. Robbins should be considered questionable for Thursday's game against Northwestern.

Scoreless against Illinois
Robbins generated zero points (0-4 FG, 0-2 3Pt), four assists, four blocks and one rebound over 13 minutes in Saturday's 94-63 loss to Illinois.
Impact
Robbins was hindered by an ankle injury leading up to Saturday's matchup, and he saw limited playing time against the Illini. He struggled against Illinois center Kofi Cockburn and was held scoreless for the first time this season. Robbins was dominant earlier in the season, but he's averaging just 5.2 points and 4.8 rebounds over 20.0 minutes per game across the past five matchups.

In starting five
Robbins (ankle) will start Saturday's game against Illinois, Marcus Fuller of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Impact
Robbins' availability is big news for the Golden Gophers as they attempt to contain Illinois star center Kofi Cockburn. Robbins stands seven feet tall himself and will presumably be charged with the task. He may also find it challenging to rack up offensive numbers Saturday with Cockburn presumably set to guard him as well.

Warming up Saturday
Robbins (ankle) is warming up ahead of Saturday's game against Illinois, Marcus Fuller of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Impact
Robbins has been dealing with an ankle issue since last week but appears to be attempting to give it a go in a tough test against Illinois. It may be a long afternoon for Robbins who won't be at 100 percent and will have to match up against one of the most tenacious big men in the country in Kofi Cockburn.

Hopes to play versus Illini
Robbins continues to sit out practice to rest his bad ankle but hopes to play Saturday against Illinois, Marcus Fuller of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Impact
Robbins hasn't missed a game yet this season and he's doing everything he can to keep that the case. It's probably best to consider him questionable for Saturday and to operate under the assumption that the junior big man is less than 100 percent even if he does take the floor.

Set for surgery
Kalscheur will undergo surgery on his right hand's broken finger and will miss the next 3-to-4 weeks, Marcus Fuller of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Impact
Kalscheur's injury surfaced during practice and will, unfortunately, leave the Gophers without one of their primary shooters down the stretch. Kalschur had struggled to find his stroke from range this season, shooting a career-low 25 percent from beyond the arc, and missing time certainly won't do his shooting stroke any favors.

Productive in loss
Carr logged 19 points (7-16 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 4-5 FT), four assists, four steals and three rebounds over 36 minutes in Wednesday's 82-72 loss to Indiana.
Impact
Carr only recorded nine points in Sunday's loss to Maryland, but he was much more productive against the Hoosiers on Wednesday. The redshirt junior has been one of the top guards in the nation this season, averaging 19.4 points, 5.1 assists and 4.0 rebounds over 35.2 minutes per game.

Inefficient against Hoosiers
Williams generated 11 points (4-12 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 2-4 FT), two assists and one rebound over 34 minutes in Wednesday's 82-72 loss to Indiana.
Impact
Williams remained in the starting lineup over the last six games, and he has now posted double figures in the scoring column in back-to-back contests. He shot just 33.3 percent from the floor Wednesday, but he still put up a season-high 11 points in the loss. Across the last six contests, Williams is averaging 7.0 points and 2.2 rebounds over 23.0 minutes per game.

Scores 19 as starter
Mashburn posted 19 points (7-16 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 4-6 FT) and three rebounds over 35 minutes in Wednesday's 82-72 loss to Indiana.
Impact
Mashburn joined the starting lineup Wednesday for the first time this season with Gabe Kalscheur (hand) sidelined, and he tied for the team lead in the scoring column while playing a career-high 35 minutes. The freshman has now recorded double-digit scoring totals in four of the last five contests and will likely remain in the starting five with Kalscheur out indefinitely. Across the past five matchups, he's averaging 12.0 points and 1.8 rebounds over 27.4 minutes per game.

Six points against Hoosiers
Robbins (ankle) had six points (1-2 FG, 4-6 FT), two rebounds and three blocks across 26 minutes in Wednesday's 82-72 loss to Indiana.
Impact
Robbins started despite being severely limited his last time out due to ankle troubles, but he saw less minutes than any other player in the starting five. Part of that may be due to the four personal fouls he accumulate, but in any case, he'll remain a risky fantasy option until his playing time returns to its old level.
