Seven steals on Friday Johnson notched four points (2-4 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 0-3 FT), two rebounds, six assists and seven steals in 24 minutes during Friday's 74-59 victory over Pittsburgh.

Impact Johnson was flying around all over the place against Pittsburgh with his career-high seven steals. It was thought that transfer Malik Curry would be the guy that would come in and start at point guard with Miles McBride now gone, but early in the season it appears to be Johnson's job for now.

Draws start at point guard Johnson will draw the start in Tuesday's season opener against Oakland.

Impact A few offseason reports had indicated Johnson had a chance to start at point guard, and it appears that's officially the direction coach Bob Huggins will go in. The 6-3 senior will be asked to take a major step forward from the 1.3 points he put up across 7.3 minutes in 26 appearances off the bench last season.
