Coming off bench in opener Sanon will come off the bench in Monday's season opener against Quinnipiac, Roger Rubin of Newsday reports.
Impact Sanon will start the first game of the season off the bench as the Johnnies roll out a bigger lineup, with Dillon Mitchell being the one in his place. Sanon will likely be the sixth man still for the Red Storm, and he should be a big rotational player for the team this campaign. The 6-foot-8 forward averaged 9.9 points and 6.8 rebounds per game across 35 appearances for Cincinnati last season.

Withdrawing from NBA Draft Sanon is withdrawing from the 2025 NBA Draft, according to Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports.
Impact Sanon will use his collegiate eligibility's sophomore season. According to Jonathan Givony of ESPN.com, several reasons indicate why the underclassman selected St. John's. "New York City, Madison Square Garden, Rick Pitino. If we weren't the first to take it (the Red Storm's scholarship offer), I'd envy the person who did," the freshman's sports agent said. "The way Coach P teaches defense is something I want to invest my time into," his newest student told ESPN. During the 2024-25 Big 12 Conference's regular season, Sanon logged 10.3 points per game. So if Pitino and his coaching staff help their newest student's defense improve, he becomes more than a good guard.

Declares for draft Sanon has declared for the 2025 NBA Draft but remains committed to St. John's and is expected to play in college in the 2025-26 season, according to Adam Zagoria of NJ.com.
Impact During the 2024-25 Big 12 Conference's regular season, Sanon logged 10.3 points per game. So if Pitino and his coaching staff help their newest student's defense improve, he becomes more than a good guard. He's expected to go through the entire draft process, but in the end, he's likely to return to play for head coach Rick Pitino.

Commits to St. John's Sanon has committed to St. John's, according to Jonathan Givony of ESPN.com.
Impact According to Sanon's agent Derek Malloy, he encouraged the freshman to take an opportunity for a Hall of Fame coach. In college basketball, Pitino is among the most proven. "Coach Pitino believes in me and my potential and what he can do for me," Sanon told ESPN. "The way Coach P teaches defense is something I want to invest my time into." Offensively, Sanon is a lot more proven, which makes his commitment to St. John's big news. While enrolled at Arizona State, a Power Four college, Sanon logged 11.9 points per game. Against the Big 12 Conference's teams, he averaged 10.5 points.

Impact Sanon put together a very solid freshman season with the Sun Devils. He played in 27 games, starting nine, and averaging 11.9 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.0 assists. He's a talented sniper, as he shot 37 percent from distance. Sanon should have teams all over hi in the portal.

Explodes for 28 Sanon totaled 28 points (11-20 FG, 4-5 3Pt, 2-3 FT), three rebounds, one assist and one block across 37 minutes during Saturday's 99-73 loss to Utah.
Impact Sanon put together a 28-point masterpiece, draining 4-of-5 from beyond the arc while topping 20 points for the third time this season. Despite the return of Alston Mason after a one-game absence, Sanon remained in the starting lineup for the second-consecutive game in favor of Adam Miller, who missed the game with a hip injury. With the regular season's final week ahead and Arizona State floundering near the bottom of the Big 12, Sanon has played all but three minutes during his two starts, putting together back-to-back performances of 18 and 28 points. It seems a strong likelihood that Sanon has earned his opportunity for big minutes and more big performances as the season draws to a conclusion.

Helps fill void for Sun Devils Sanon finished Wednesday's 91-81 loss to BYU with 18 points (7-17 FG, 0-6 3Pt, 4-8 FT), five rebounds and four assists over 40 minutes.
Impact Sanon earned the starting nod, playing all 40 minutes while tallying his highest point total since the start of conference play. The freshman guard replaced an ill Alston Mason in the starting lineup for the Sun Devils, who were also without Jayden Quaintance (knee) and BJ Freeman, who was dismissed from the team over the weekend. Sanon played well during the early part of the season but suffered an ankle injury after the calendar turned to 2025 and has mostly struggled since, with Wednesday's performance marking just the second time since mid-December that he's reached double figures in the scoring column. If Mason's illness lingers into the weekend, Sanon would continue to see a lot of action in a softer matchup at Utah.

Starting Wednesday Sanon is included in the starting rotation for Wednesday's game against BYU, Rivals.com reports.
Impact Sanon will be making his fifth start of the season as he takes over the injured Alston Mason (illness) in the starting unit. The freshman guard has averaged 10.4 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.0 assists on 25.6 minutes across 22 appearances.

Warming up Saturday Sanon (ankle) is warming up for Arizona State ahead of the Sun Devils' clash with Iowa State, Rivals.com reports.
Impact Sanon has missed five of the Sun Devils' last six games with an ankle injury. Given a previous report that he's expected to play, and the guard being spotted warming up, it appears as though he'll return to action in a big showdown with the Cyclones. The freshman averages 12.8 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.2 assists.
JANUARY 25, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Expected back Saturday Sanon (ankle) is expected to be available for Saturday's matchup with Iowa State, Rivals.com reports.
Impact Sanon, who has missed five of the Sun Devils' last six games with an ankle injury, is expected back against the Cyclones on Saturday. The 6-foot-5 freshman has seen action in 13 games this season (three starts), averaging 12.8 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.2 assists on 26.6 minutes per game.

Ruled out Tuesday Sanon (ankle) will not play in Tuesday's game against West Virginia, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.
Impact Sanon will miss his third consecutive game as he continues to recover from an ankle injury. The freshman guard will hope to back on the court for Saturday's clash with Iowa State.
JANUARY 21, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Inactive Saturday Sanon (ankle) will not appear in Saturday's game against Cincinatti, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.
Impact Sanon has now missed four of ASU's last five games as the result of an ankle injury as the Sun Devils face off against the Bearcats. The 6-foot-5 freshman, who got off to a fast start with the program averaging 12.8 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.2 assists across 13 games (26.6 minutes per game), will have his next chance to return against West Virginia on Tuesday.
JANUARY 18, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Injury causes DNP Sanon (ankle) did not play during Arizona State's 95-89 loss Tuesday against Central Florida, Rivals reports.
Impact For a lot of January, Sanon has been affected by an ankle injury, which was seemingly not a problem when the Sun Devils hosted Baylor on Saturday. The injury flared up Tuesday, which is why he did not play then.
JANUARY 14, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Logs 17 minutes in return Sanon (ankle) provided five points (2-5 FG, 1-3 3Pt) across 17 minutes during Saturday's 72-66 OT loss to Baylor.
Impact Sanon returned to action for the Sun Devils after a two-game absence, and he should ramp up his workload in the coming days. Don't rule out Sanon from having an even bigger role when ASU takes on Central Florida on Tuesday.
JANUARY 11, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Warming up pregame Sanon (ankle) is seen warming up ahead of Saturday night's game against Baylor, Michelle Gardner of The Arizona Republic reports.
Impact Sanon has missed back-to-back games for the Sun Devils, but he should finally return to the court against the Bears. The freshman guard is averaging 13.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists on 27.4 minutes per game across 12 games (three starts) this campaign.
JANUARY 11, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Out with ankle injury Sanon is out for Wednesday's game against Kansas due to an ankle injury, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.
Impact Sanon didn't play in ASU's last game and won't be available for this one, either. He's averaging 13.5 points per game this season, so his absence will be greatly felt. His next chance to play will come Saturday against Baylor.
JANUARY 8, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Out vs. Colorado Sanon isn't dressed for Arizona State's game against Colorado, Rivals.com reports.
Impact Sanon was deemed a game-time call and didn't participate in pregame warmups, so it's no surprise that he's unavailable against the Buffaloes. Sanon's next chance to play will come on Jan. 8 against Kansas.
