Impact Blackwell's 24 points were his most since the Jan. 13 win over Minnesota, which was also the last time he canned five three-pointers. The guard was excellent for Wisconsin, hitting big shots to keep the Badgers in the game and then knocking down a huge three-pointer in overtime to give Wisconsin what wound up being an insurmountable lead. Blackwell appears to live for the bright lights, playing his best in hostile environments and clutch situations.

Impact Blackwell was essentially silent in the first half for the Badgers, who trailed by 18 points at halftime, a deficit that would eventually balloon to 20 before Wisconsin started a furious comeback. Just like he did in the first meeting between these two teams, Blackwell came alive in the second half, scoring the Badgers' final seven points, including what would ultimately be the dagger three-pointer. Obviously, Wisconsin would like its star junior guard to play like that all game, but he played his best when it mattered the most yet again.

Impact Blackwell's scoring fell off a bit over the final four games of December, as he averaged just 9.7 ppg, potentially due in part to an undisclosed injury that forced one DNP. He rallied a bit with 17 points in a win over UCLA earlier in the week, though his outside shooting didn't quite click, as he was 1-for-9 from distance. That changed Saturday against the top team in the country, as Blackwell knocked down four treys -- his highest single-game total since Dec. 6. His 26 points were also a game-high. It's not an oversimplification to say the Badgers will go as Blackwell goes, as point guard Nick Boyd (19.7 ppg) has been impressive this year, but Wisconsin sees the most success when both are scoring at a high rate. Next up is a matchup at Minnesota on Tuesday.
