Impact Akinjo led all scorers in the contest to help Baylor clinch a share of the regular season Big 12 Title with Kansas. Akinjo also locked up First Team All-Big 12 honors after averaging 13.3 points, 5.8 assists, 2.7 rebounds, 2.0 steals, and 1.3 three-pointers per contest this season. Impact Akinjo turned in one of his best lines of the season in a big road game against a great defense just two days after beating Kansas at home. Over the last seven games Akinjo is putting up 13.7 points, 6.7 assists, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.7 steals per contest. Baylor's backcourt led them to the title last season and the duo of Akinjo and Adam Flagler will hope to do the same in 2022.

Impact Akinjo has been bothered by back and tailbone injuries of late, and he had missed two of his last three contests heading into Sunday. While his seven dimes looked good on the stat sheet, he coupled them with six turnovers and a subpar shooting day. It doesn't appear as if the senior is at 100 percent, as he's shooting just 22.2 percent from the field over the last three games he's appeared in.
