Chips in 15 points in win
Coles ended Saturday's 83-82 victory over Texas Tech with 15 points (5-12 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 4-4 FT), five rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal over 27 minutes.
Impact
Coles finished as the Horned Frogs' second-leading scorer behind guard Mike Miles (24) in this crucial conference win. The 6-foot-7 sophomore, who has come off the bench in all but one of his 29 appearances this season, also saw his second-longest playing time of the 2022-23 campaign. As a result, he outscored starting big men Emanuel Miller (14) and Xavier Cork (10), the latter of whom stepped in for injured center Eddie Lampkin (undisclosed) on Saturday. Coles has now averaged 12.1 points and 4.1 rebounds while playing 20.7 minutes per game over the last nine contests. He'll look to continue this strong end to the regular season Wednesday versus Texas.

No. 2 scorer in loss
Coles ended Saturday's 72-68 loss to Baylor with 15 points (6-8 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 2-3 FT), five rebounds, three assists and one steal across 21 minutes.
Impact
Coles posted double-digit points for the fifth game in a row during this narrow loss to the conference-rival Bears. With Horned Frogs starters Mike Miles (knee) and center Eddie Lampkin (ankle) both missing time due to injury over the past few weeks, the 6-foot-7 Coles has helped fill the scoring gap in TCU's lineup. While coming off the bench over the past five games, the sophomore forward has averaged 14.0 points and 4.4 rebounds while converting 56.5 percent of his 9.2 field-goal tries per game. This boost in production has made Coles a player worthy of fantasy consideration so long as TCU's starting lineup continues to shift around due to injury.

Nears double-double in tight loss
Coles produced 12 points (3-8 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 5-6 FT), eight rebounds and one assist over 28 minutes during Saturday's 81-74 OT loss to Mississippi State.
Impact
Coles logged a season high in minutes with starting center Eddie Lampkin (ankle) sidelined for the second game in a row. The 6-foot-7 sophomore still came off the bench Saturday, as 6-foot-9 junior Xavier Cork drew the start versus Mississippi State. However, Coles still played 12 more minutes than Cork. Coles logged more than 15 minutes just once in the Horned Frogs' previous eight games, though this prominent playing time Saturday appears to indicate he could be in line for more increased usage so long as Lampkin remains out.

ROTOWIRE
Continues consistent bench role
Coles chipped in seven points (3-5 FG, 1-2 3Pt), four rebounds, two assists and two blocks across 15 minutes during Tuesday's 79-52 win over Oklahoma.
Impact
Coles has been a consistent role player off the bench for TCU this season. While his production and playing time have taken slight dips during conference play, he's still posting a consistent 5.8 points and 3.1 rebounds over an average of 12.5 minutes. Coles' solid production in limited playing time could promise more prolific stat lines if he's ever tapped to play a bigger role in place of starters Charles O'Bannon or Emanuel Miller.

ROTOWIRE
Explodes in blowout win
Coles chipped in 21 points (7-11 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 4-4 FT), seven rebounds, two assists, three blocks and one steal in 25 minutes during Tuesday's 78-51 win over Jackson State.
Impact
Coles logged the best stat line of his career while playing a prominent role in the Horned Frogs' unusual lineup Tuesday. With starters Mike Miles (undisclosed) and Emmanuel Miller (undisclosed) both sitting out, the sophomore forward saw a season high in minutes. Coles also remained highly efficient in this increased role, as he has now made 47.9 percent of his 6.0 field-goal tries per game. He also notched season highs in both attempted and made three-pointers, albeit against an overmatched Jackson State squad. Coles averaged 14.7 minutes per game over TCU's first seven contests, so it's unlikely he'll see this type of role once the team's starting five is at full strength moving forward.

Significant playing time in blowout
Coles logged 15 points (6-11 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 1-1 FT), seven rebounds, one assist, three blocks and one steal across 21 minutes during Thursday's 95-60 win over ULM.
Impact
With starting guards Mike Miles (foot) and Damion Baugh (suspension) still out, Coles logged a season high in minutes as the Horned Frogs took a 53-26 lead into halftime. The 6-foot-7 redshirt sophomore finished as TCU's second-leading scorer behind forward Emmanuel Miller (16 points). Coles also asserted his dominance down low over the outmatched Warhawks, whose largest backcourt player stands at just 6-foot-5. Coles has averaged a career-high eight points, 4.8 rebounds and one assist over three games this season, though he'll face tougher competition later on this season.

Active Saturday
Coles (ankle) is warming up ahead of TCU's matchup with Baylor and appears to be good to go, Drew Davison of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Impact
Coles has been dealing with ankle issues but appears to be ready to play in an important showdown with conference rival Baylor. The 6-foot-7 forward has put up 5.7 points, 3.5 rebounds, one assist, 0.7 steals and 0.7 blocks on 13.7 minutes per game. Shorthanded TCU will need all the help they can get against top-ranked Baylor.

Considered game-time call
Coles has been labeled a game-time decision for Saturday's contest versus Baylor due to an ankle injury, Drew Davison of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Impact
Coles is coming off of a season-high 12 points against Grambling State last time out, so his ankle issue comes at an unfortunate time. Pregame warmups should provide a clearer picture of his availability.

Puts in 12 points off bench
Coles recorded 12 points (4-9 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 3-4 FT), three rebounds and two assists in 18 minutes during Tuesday's 90-55 victory over Grambling State.
Impact
Coles' 12 points were a season high. The Butler transfer is now putting up 5.7 points and 3.5 rebounds in 13.7 minutes per contest. He is starting to become a bigger piece of the rotation off the bench.

Solid effort off bench
Coles provided 10 points (4-10 FG, 2-6 3Pt), seven rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal over 23 minutes during Wednesday's 76-62 victory over Utah.
Impact
Coles was a key contributor off the bench for the Horned Frogs to propel them to a solid non-conference win. The Butler transfer is averaging 6.1 points and 4.1 rebounds in 13.6 minutes per contest this season. Coles will look to continue to help off the bench on Saturday against Texas A&M.

ROTOWIRE
Five boards off bench
Coles registered zero points (0-2 FG, 0-1 3Pt) and five rebounds in eight minutes during Thursday's 77-61 win over McNeese State.
Impact
Coles suffered a torn meniscus in January that cut his season at Butler short, and he elected to transfer to TCU the following summer. It appears he'll contribute in a frontcourt depth role, but it's a great sign to see that the knee issue is seemingly a thing of the past.

Done for season
Coles (knee) announced Monday via his personal Instagram account that he will miss the remainder of the 2020-21 season.
Impact
Coles had been without a clear timeline for return since suffering a partially torn meniscus in his left knee during a Jan. 1 practice, but the 6-foot-7 forward has now confirmed that his freshman campaign is over. Prior to getting hurt, Coles made six appearances, averaging 6.3 points and 3.3 rebounds in 17.7 minutes per game.

Coles (knee) is out for at least three weeks with a meniscus tear, David Woods of The Indianapolis Star reports.
Impact
Coles was held out of last Saturday's game against Seton Hall after suffering the meniscus tear in practice on Friday. The 6-7 freshman will hope to be back contributing at some point later this month.
