Washington visits No. 24 USC after Steinbach's 29-point showing
Washington takes on the No. 24 USC Trojans after Hannes Steinbach scored 29 points in the Huskies' 82-80 loss to the UCLA Bruins

Enormous outing in heartbreaker
Steinbach accumulated 29 points (11-12 FG, 7-8 FT), 10 rebounds, three assists and one steal over 32 minutes during Wednesday's 82-80 loss to UCLA.
Impact
Steinbach was ridiculously efficient against UCLA, shooting 92 percent from the field, a number even more mind-boggling when you take into account the fact that he just returned from a three-game absence. There was zero rust from the German forward, and he also pulled down double-digit rebounds for the fourth straight game, marking his fourth-straight double-double. Washington lost a heartbreaker to the Bruins, but Steinbach's prowess as a scorer and on the glass is a big silver lining.

Questionable Wednesday
Steinbach (ankle) is questionable for Wednesday's game against UCLA, Dan Raley of SI.com reports.
Impact
Steinbach, who has missed the last three games with an ankle sprain, is hopeful to suit up against the Bruins, but remains questionable at this time. The 6-foot-11 freshman "has a chance" according to head coach Danny Sprinkle, as he tests out his ability to run and cut on the court. Steinbach started in each of Washington's first four games, averaging 14.5 points, 12.8 rebounds and 1.5 blocks on 31.8 minutes per game. The young German center's status will be worth monitoring ahead of tipoff tomorrow night.

Not in starting lineup
Steinbach isn't part of the Huskies' starting lineup for Friday's game against Colorado, Percy Allen of The Seattle Times reports.
Impact
Steinbach was deemed questionable and was spotted during pregame warmups Friday. His absence from the starting lineup could mean he's out, or at the very least, limited. Steinbach had started and played 29 or more minutes in all four appearances this season.

Observed in pregame warmups
Steinbach (ankle) was observed participating in pregame warmups ahead of Friday's meeting with Colorado, Percy Allen of The Seattle Times reports.
Impact
Steinbach is looking to make his return to the court after a two-game absence due to an ankle injury. The 6-foot-11 forward's participation in warmups bodes well for his chances of suiting up. Should he miss this contest, his next opportunity to suit up will be against UCLA during Wednesday's matchup.

Questionable Friday
Steinbach (ankle) is listed as questionable for Friday's game against Colorado.
Impact
Steinbach has missed back-to-back games due to an ankle injury, and he's at risk of missing a third. If Steinbach can't go Friday, Zoom Diallo and Quimari Peterson are slated to handle larger roles. The Huskies will be without starting wing Bryson Tucker (ankle) against Colorado.

Status doubtful
Steinbach (ankle) is doubtful for Thursday's game against Nevada at Palm Springs, according to Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports.
Impact
It has been more than a week since Steinbach was ruled out for Washington's latest game against Southern, yet his ankle still appears to be a problem that will likely lead to another DNP. In his place against Southern, UW's starting lineup added Quimari Peterson, but it would also make sense if the Cougars add Desmond Claude after his triumphant return with 20 points and six assists.

Won't play Tuesday
Steinbach has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against Southern due to an undisclosed injury.
Impact
Steinbach has been dominant to start his freshman season, having logged three straight double-doubles and averaging 14.5 points, 12.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 blocks over four appearances overall. However, he'll be sidelined Tuesday, leaving frontcourt duties to Lathan Sommerville, Franck Kepnang and Christian Nitu. His next chance to play will come Nov. 27 against Nevada.

Another double-double
Steinbach posted 14 points (5-11 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 3-5 FT), 13 rebounds, one block and one steal across 31 minutes during Friday's 81-69 victory over Washington State.
Impact
Steinbech recorded a double-double in his third straight game Saturday and is now averaging nearly 15 rebounds per game over his last three. The freshman has had an excellent start to his collegiate career and he will look to continue this form Tuesday versus Southern and throughout the rest of the season.

Shines in debut
Steinbach closed with 21 points (9-11 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 2-3 FT), seven rebounds, six assists and one steal over 29 minutes during Monday's 94-50 win over UAPB.
Impact
Steinbach was excellent in his collegiate debut. International prospects that join the ranks of American college hoops are often lauded for their experience, and Steinbach's was on full display. He was incredibly efficient, hitting 9-of-11 shots from the field, and also contributed on the boards and as a passer. If Washington has a bounce-back year, this guy will be a big reason why.
