Draws start Friday
Loyer will start Friday's contest against Fordham.
Impact
Loyer will draw the start in place of Grant Huffman, who will presumably still be available off the bench. Loyer, a transfer from Michigan State, operated as a reserve during Davidson's regular season finale following a return from a four-game absence due to a leg injury, but he's back in his usual spot in the starting lineup Friday. The 6-foot guard is averaging 16.8 points, 3.4 assists and 3.2 rebounds in 31.1 minutes per game.

Goes big off bench in return
Loyer (leg) ended with 25 points (7-13 FG, 5-7 3Pt, 6-7 FT), one rebound and two assists in 35 minutes during Saturday's 82-76 loss to Dayton.
Impact
Loyer showed no signs of rust from his two-plus week layoff Saturday, nailing seven of his 13 shots from the field and five of his seven tries from beyond the arc to compile 25 points for just the fourth time this season. He figures to return to the starting five next time out and should be the centerpiece of Davidson's scoring in postseason play.

Looks to be available Saturday
Loyer (leg) appears to be available for Saturday's game against Dayton, David Jablonski of the Dayton Daily News reports.
Impact
Per Jordan Majewski of SBNation.com, Loyer isn't among the starters for the contest, but Jablonski suggests he looked good in warmups and seems set to be available off the bench. The junior's return would be huge with the A10 tournament looming, though Loyer seems likely to be limited Saturday given his multi-week absence and the fact that he's not included in the starting lineup.

Getting up shots pregame
Loyer (leg) is taking shots in warmups ahead of Saturday's game against Dayton.
Impact
Loyer has missed each of the last four contests due to a leg injury but could be on a path toward making his return to action for Saturday's regular-season finale. That would be a huge boon offensively for the Wildcats, with Loyer entering the day averaging 16.5 points per contest on the year and 20.4 points over his last five games played. Even if he suits up, it's possible Loyer will be limited given his multi-week absence.

Misses fourth straight
Loyer (leg) missed his fourth consecutive contest in Wednesday's 73-62 victory over George Mason.
Impact
Fortunately for the Wildcats, the team has managed to go 4-0 during Loyer's absence and remain in position for a regular season conference championship. A road win against Dayton on Saturday would secure that, but Loyer's status remains unknown for that matchup.

Out Saturday
Loyer (leg) will be inactive for Davidson on Saturday as they take on Fordham, Jordan Majewski of SBNation.com reports.
Impact
Loyer, who has missed the last two games for the Wildcats, will miss Saturday's game against Fordham. The 6-foot junior has started 24 games this season, averaging 16.5 points, 3.3 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 0.8 steals on 31 minutes per game this season. Grant Huffman is likely to continue to start in his place as Davidson will yet again be without their starting point guard.

Hangs 25 on St. Joes
Loyer totaled 25 points (10-17 FG, 5-8 3Pt), four rebounds and five assists over 29 minutes during Wednesday's 88-73 victory over Saint Joseph's.
Impact
Loyer seems to be getting comfortable, having put up double-digits in five straight, including 35 against Northeastern, after doing so just three times in the Wildcats' first seven contests. Davidson plays all five starters 30+ every night, so Loyer certainly won't be hurting for opportunities. If he can prove consistent, he'll be a valuable Tier 2 option

Ready to go vs. St. Joe's
Davidson head coach Bob McKillop said Loyer (undisclosed) has been cleared to play Wednesday at Saint Joseph's, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.
Impact
The Michigan State transfer missed his first game of the season Dec. 22, but his services weren't needed as Davidson sailed to a 42-point win over NAIA member Johnson & Wales. Now more than two weeks removed from that contest, Davidson will finally return to action with a healthy Loyer on hand. The junior guard is averaging 15.2 points, 3.2 three-pointers, 3.0 assists, 2.2 rebounds and 1.2 steals in 11 appearances during his first season with the Wildcats.

Fails to play Wednesday
Loyer (undisclosed) did not suit up in Wednesday's game.
Impact
Loyer was having a great season after transferring in from Michigan State. He is putting up 15.2 points, 3.2 three-pointers, and 3.0 assists per contest. It's unclear why he did not play Wednesday, but he will hope to be back for their game next week.
