Impact Bidunga showed off his elite skill in finishing one board shy of his second double double this season while adding value as a distributor and rim protector. The five assists he dished out were a career high while the five blocked shots were a season high for the sophomore big man. Bidunga shot better than 50-percent from the floor for the fourth-consecutive game and fifth time in six games and has proven to be one of the best two-way big men in the country thus far during the young season, averaging 16.7 points, 7.7 boards and 2.7 blocks while shooting a touch under 70-percent from the floor.

The sophomore center also added three rejections, a total he's reached three times thus far. Bidunga showed glimpses last year while working behind Hunter Dickinson and has thus far shown that he can dominate lesser competition, though his one down game this year came against North Carolina. He'll have another chance to prove himself early next week when the Jayhawks take on Duke in a marquee matchup.

Impact Bidunga's 23 points in the season opener against an undersized mid-major squad in Green Bay may be an outlier, but the new KU center has offered reliable production beyond that, all while staying out of foul trouble (which was the biggest expected challenge heading into 2025-26). He's now averaging 14.3 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.3 blocks through three games, all while shooting an incredibly efficient 70.4 percent from the field. He and the Jayhawks have another softer matchup against Princeton set for Saturday before a massive showdown with Duke on Nov. 18, which will be a major litmus test for his rest-of-season fantasy outlook.

The point total represented a new career high for the sophomore center. Bidunga shot just under 70-percent from the floor while starting six games last year in place of Hunter Dickinson, and is set to take over as a major player for the Jayhawks this season.

Impact Bidunga enters the 2025-26 season as the unquestioned starting center for Kansas, as he also started an Oct. 24 exhibition game against Louisville, collecting 14 points (6-7 FG, 2-3 FT), six rebounds and two steals in 23 minutes. The problem here, as was the case last season, was foul trouble. He fouled out of the Louisville exhibition, and was whistled twice in his 18 minutes on the court against a D2 opponent. Bidunga could possibly post some of the best per-minute numbers in the country this season, but the key to him becoming a fantasy difference-maker is simply staying on the court.

Impact Bidunga previously entered the portal following his freshman season with the Jayhawks but will return to Lawrence for his sophomore year. The 6-foot-9 forward averaged 5.9 points and 5.4 rebounds in 16.1 minutes per game this past season but produced when given the opportunity, averaging 11.3 points and 9.3 rebounds per game in contests he played 25+ minutes. His return will keep the Jayhawks in the Big 12 title picture heading into the 2025-26 season.
