Impact Louisiana-Lafayette and North Texas recently logged an exhibition game. For it, ULL's starting lineup included Finister, projected to have a top role for the Ragin' Cajuns. Perhaps it will be similar to his last, for Sam Houston, who got 8.0 points and 5.7 rebounds per game out of him.

Impact Finister's birthplace is Louisiana, whose Lafayette University will be his third as a student athlete and second after Sam Houston. Since mid-February, he has been out because of a personal problem. Ideally for the Ragin' Cajuns, his issue is solved before their next season begins.

Impact Finister started in 19 of his 23 appearances this season, but he's decided to leave Sam Houston after just one year in the program. The guard is set to enroll in another school for 2025-26, his third program over the past three seasons.

Taking leave of absence Finister is taking of a leave absence from the team and missed Thursday's win over Jacksonville State, Sports of SHSU reports.

Impact Finister had recently seen his minutes drop to 16.6 over his last five games after previously averaging just under 30 minutes per contest for the season. It's unclear if his leave of absence is in relation and when he's expected to return.

Impact Finister saw the first significant playing time of his career during this blowout win. As a result, the 6-foot-5 freshman finished as one of seven Kansas State players to finish with at least 10 points versus Incarnate Word. Finister was tabbed as a potential redshirt candidate heading into the 2022-23 campaign, though he has now appeared in six of the Wildcats' 10 games this season. Therefore, it's possible he could continue to play a sporadic role off the bench moving forward.

May redshirt freshman year Finister has been identified as a redshirt candidate, Kellis Robinett of the Wichita Eagle reports.

Impact Kansas State head coach Jerome Tang reportedly hasn't decided whether or not he's going to redshirt Finister. According to the coach, it's a difficult decision because the true freshman is ready to contribute right away. Finister is currently sitting behind Cam Carter and Desi Sills at the Wildcats' second guard spot.
