Impact McCormack registered season-highs in scoring, rebounding and blocks, avoiding foul trouble while making an impact at both ends of the floor. It wasn't enough to prevent the No. 6-ranked Jayhawks from taking their second Big 12 loss, but if they can keep getting this type of elite play from the junior, the immediate future is certainly bright.

Leads way in blowout McCormack had a team-high 20 points (7-9 FG, 6-6 FT) to go along with eight rebounds and two blocks across 23 minutes in Tuesday's 93-64 victory over TCU.

Impact McCormack flashed what he's capable of on a per-minute basis by putting up his second career 20-point game and staying out of foul trouble. Arguably more impressive were his efforts on the defensive end, as he and fellow center Mitch Lightfoot combined to limit star TCU center Kevin Samuel to just eight points and zero rebounds in 18 minutes. Replacing Udoka Azubuike is no easy task, but the 6-10 McCormack certainly did his best impression Tuesday.

Impact McCormack's 32 minutes set a season high and it was his second double-double in the last three games. Coach Bill Self has gone small quite a bit this season with McCormack not on the floor, but the team seems to be at its best when they surround the big man with shooters. It seems like his best basketball is coming down the road as he gets more comfortable and stops forcing things. Texas will be the next opponent on tap.
