Impact Because of a leg injury he suffered Monday at Virginia Tech, Whitehead will sit out the Blue Devils' upcoming game Saturday. Jeremy Roach is expected to be part of their starting lineup again that day. Whitehead's next opportunity to return is when they host Wake Forest on Tuesday, though per Stephen Wiseman of The Raleigh News & Observer, he doesn't have a concrete timetable for return. On the bright side, Whitehead's MRI came back clean and is expected to return to Duke at some point this season.

Impact Whitehead hadn't appeared in a game for three entire weeks due to the nature of the schedule and the fact he missed a Dec. 20 game due to illness. That didn't seem to affect him, however, as the five-star freshman put up a season-high scoring total. While he came off the bench here and has made just one start all season, Whitehead at least appears to be trending in the right direction, with his minutes and scoring both appearing to be on the rise since his Nov. 18 season debut. He's a player worth investing in while the price might still be reasonable.

Impact Whitehead was finally cleared to make his season debut after missing the first three games of the season, and while he didn't light up the box score, there were still some encouraging signs. First and foremost, the fact that he attempted the second-most baskets on the team suggests the top-5 consensus recruit will always have the green light to shoot. He'll need some time to establish a rhythm, but look for Whitehead to eventually push Mark Mitchell or Tyrese Proctor for a starting spot.
