Darius Acuff Jr. - Named conference POTY Acuff (ankle) has been named the SEC Player of the Year, per a release.
Impact Acuff led the conference in points (22.2) and assists (6.4) while shooting 49.3 percent from the field and 43.7 percent from the three-point line, so it's not a surprise the SEC gave Acuff POTY honors. The freshman's campaign was highlighted by a 49-point outburst in a double-OT loss to Alabama in February. Acuff missed Arkansas' regular-season finale with an ankle injury, potentially putting his availability for Friday's SEC Tournament game in doubt.

Impact Thomas figured to have a bigger part in the Razorback offense with Darius Acuff out. He had his first 20-point game in the last five contests. The 6-5 freshman finished with averages of 15.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.5 steals. He hit 41.7 percent of his 3-pointers. Arkansas will play on Friday as the two- or three-seed of the SEC tournament, depending on what Alabama does on Saturday.
