Huge game in loss
Sanogo had 18 points (8-16 FG, 2-3 FT), 16 rebounds, one assist, three blocks and one steal in 32 minutes during Saturday's 90-87 1OT loss to Seton Hall.
Impact
Sanogo made his presence back in the starting lineup loud and clear against Seton Hall, notching a career-high 16 rebounds to go along with leading the Huskies in scoring. Now that Sanogo is fully healthy, he should continue to start going forward.

Returns to starting five
Sanogo will start Saturday against Seton Hall, Neill Ostrout of the Manchester Journal Inquirer reports.
Impact
The big man returned from a four-game absence in Connecticut's last game back on Dec. 21 and played just 12 minutes. Sanogo is now set to return to the starting lineup, where he has averaged 15.6 points over 27.4 minutes in eight such outings.

On minutes restriction
Sanogo (hamstring) will be on a minutes restriction for Saturday's game versus Seton Hall, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.
Impact
Sanogo's availability in any capacity is a good sign for the Huskies, but it appears he's headed for a second straight contest of limited minutes as he continues to nurse a hamstring issue. That likely aligns him for a bench role again after posting six points, two boards and a block over 12 minutes against Marquette in his last appearance back on Dec. 21.

Available Saturday
Sanogo (hamstring) will be available for Saturday's game against Seton Hall, Neill Ostrout of the Manchester Journal Inquirer reports.
Impact
Ostrout also noted that some players may be limited, which could include Sanogo, who played just 12 minutes in the previous game. His inclusion or exclusion from the starting five should paint a better picture of how much he's expected to play.

Limited following hamstring tweak
Sanogo tweaked his hamstring against Marquette on Saturday and got in a limited practice session Thursday after missing practice Wednesday, Neill Ostrout of the Manchester Journal...
Impact
Sanogo's upgraded practice participation marks a step in the right direction but it certainly doesn't guarantee his availability for Saturday's clash with Seton Hall. Word on his status for that contest should surface at some point prior to the opening tip.

Six points in return
Sanogo (abdomen) notched six points (3-6 FG), two rebounds and one block across 12 minutes during Tuesday's 78-70 victory over Marquette.
Impact
Sanogo was making his return after missing the last four games. He was still a bit limited, but should rejoin the starting five sooner rather than later once he gets his conditioning back up to speed. That could even come next Tuesday against Xavier.

ROTOWIRE
Returning to action Tuesday
Sanogo (abdomen) will play Tuesday against Marquette but likely will have a minutes restriction, David Borges of the New Haven Register reports.
Impact
Sanogo was a full participant at Monday's practice and will return to the court Tuesday after missing the previous four games. He's averaging 15.6 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.8 blocks in 27.4 minutes this season, so he should still be plenty impactful even with more limited playing time.

ROTOWIRE
Full participant in practice Monday
Sanogo (abdomen) was a full participant at practice Monday, David Borges of Heart Connecticut Media reports.
Impact
It seems apparent that the center is nearing a return, as Sanogo has been out since Dec. 4 with an abdominal injury. Per Borges, Sanogo may play "limited minutes" against Marquette on Tuesday depending on how he feels pregame. Once he's available to play, the center will be a major boost to the lineup for the Huskies, who have lost two of the past three contests.

Not dressed for warmups
Sanogo (abdomen) is not in uniform for warmups ahead of Saturday's game against providence, Bill Koch of The Providence Journal reports.
Impact
Sanogo was initially deemed a game-time decision and was seen taking part in early shootaround but ultimately will miss fourth straight game. The 6-9 sophomore appears to be nearing a potential return but will have to wait a little longer before he can take the floor. His next chance to do so would come on the road against Marquette on Dec. 21, as Akok Akok figures to remain in the starting five for at least one more game.

Taking part in early warmups
Sanogo (abdomen) is warming up early prior to Saturday's game versus Providence, Neill Ostrout of the Manchester Journal Inquirer reports.
Impact
Sanogo is officially a game-time call for the contest, so his participation in pregame warmups is at least a good sign. More clarity on his staus figures to surface ahead of the opening tip.

ROTOWIRE
Will be a game-time call
Sanogo (abdomen) will be a game-time decision for Saturday's game against Providence, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.
Impact
Sanogo initially was considered to have an outside chance to play Saturday as, as the team was hoping to have both he and Tyrese Martin back for the start of conference play. It seems like Sanogo's availability will come right down to tip-off and his status could be determined basedon how he feels going through warmups. If he returns, UConn would get two of its top scorers back in the fold with Sanogo averaging 15.6 points and 6.3 rebounds in 27.4 minutes per game.

Questionable to suit up Saturday
Sanogo (abdominal) is questionable to play Saturday against Providence, Bill Koch of The Providence Journal reports.
Impact
Sanogo is able to do more in practice this week and could potentially take part in full practice on Friday. Once the coaches see how Sanogo responds to no restrictions, they should have a better idea of his chances to play Saturday.

Has outside chance to play Saturday
Head coach Dan Hurley said after Saturday's 74-64 win over St. Bonaventure that Sanogo (abdomen) could still be a couple games from returning but does have a shot at returning for...
Impact
Hurley said the team will know more about Sanogo's status in the middle of the week. He's ramped up his activity in practice but his injury is a delicate one and so the team wants to make sure they don't rush him back out there and risk further injury. Sanogo has been one of the Huskies' most dominant players this year, averaging 15.6 points and 6.3 rebounds per game.

Could be available before Christmas

Impact
Sanogo has been feeling better the last few days according to coach Hurley. He suffered an abdominal strain last week against Maryland Eastern Shore. Sanogo will likely be eased in at practice in the coming weeks and we should get further updates on his potential return to action.

Likely out multiple weeks
Coach Dan Hurley said Friday that Sanogo (abdomen) is out at least a couple of weeks and will likely be sidelined longer, Neill Ostrout of the Manchester Journal Inquirer reports.
Impact
Sanogo recorded eight points and two rebounds before leaving Tuesday's win over Maryland Eastern Shore early with a lower abdominal strain. The 6-foot-9 forward has been spectacular to begin the year, averaging 16.7 points and 6.9 rebounds in 28.0 minutes per game heading into Tuesday's contest. During his absence, Isaiah Whaley and Richie Springs will likely see increased roles.

Impact
Head coach Dan Hurley said the team would know more about the injury Wednesday, leaving Sanogo's status up in the air for the moment. The 6-9 sophomore has been nothing short of spectacular to begin the year, averaging 16.7 points and 6.9 rebounds in 28 minutes per contest heading into Tuesday.

Breaking out in Battle 4 Atlantis
Sanogo notched 18 points (8-18 FG, 2-2 FT), 10 rebounds, one assist, six blocks and one steal over 34 minutes during Thursday's 64-60 loss to Michigan State.
Impact
Sanogo is in the midst of a breakout season, and this year's Battle 4 Atlantis tournament has allowed him to continue on the national stage. He tallied 30 points in the tournament opener -- a 2OT victory over Auburn -- before recording his first double-double of the season in Thursday's narrow loss. The second-year center leads the Huskies in scoring (18.5 ppg) entering Friday's fifth-place game against VCU, and if Isaiah Whaley is forced to sit again, it's possible Sanogo could be in for another big game on the glass.

Scrounges 20 points
Sonogo found 20 points (9-11 FG, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, three blocks, one assist and one steal during 24 minutes of Tuesday's 99-48 victory over Central Connecticut.
Impact
Sanogo picked up right where he left off last season and that's in the paint. He went to work down low and finished eight of his nine makes at the rim. His 20-point night is a career high is impressive considering his struggles scoring last season where he averaged 7.3 points per game. If he can find consistency on offense to combine with his great defense from last year where he ranked second on the team in blocks, UCONN's frontcourt could have another stud.
