Jags safety Eric Murray likely to play vs. Texans at Wembley Stadium
WATFORD, England (AP) — Jaguars safety Eric Murray is likely to play Sunday against the Houston Texans but Jacksonville on Friday ruled out cornerback Montaric Brown and long snapper Ross Matiscik.
Murray was sidelined for Jacksonville's 19-17 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles last week because of a concussion sustained the prior week against Cincinnati. He was a full participant at practice Friday.
Cornerback Jaylon Jones (hamstring) was limited in practice all week and was listed as questionable for Sunday.
Brown has a hamstring injury and didn't practice this week. Matiscik hurt his shoulder against the Eagles, and the Jags signed long snapper Jacob Bobenmoyer as backup.
Murray is in his second season with Jacksonville after five years with the Texans.
Jags coach Liam Coen on Friday said he felt “more confident” about Murray returning. Earlier this week, Coen said the veteran is "a competitor, he’s physical, he brings a standard to everything that we do on the back end — and obviously he’s playing against his former team.”
