Chargers get a boost as KeAndre Lambert-Smith returns from IR ahead of Chiefs game
EL SEGUNDO, Calif. (AP) — Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver KeAndre Lambert-Smith was activated from the reserve/injured list Saturday.
He had been sidelined with a hamstring injury since Week 1.
The Chargers (0-5) visit the AFC West-leading Kansas City Chiefs (4-0) on Sunday.
Lambert-Smith helped Los Angeles rally past the Chiefs on the road last December, catching a 16-yard touchdown pass from Justin Herbert late in the first half.
Meanwhile, the Chargers released wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling.
The team also signed outside linebacker Caleb Murphy to the active roster, filling the spot created when fullback Alec Ingold went on reserve/injured status. Offensive lineman Daniel Brunskill and cornerback Isas Waxter were elevated from the practice squad for Sunday’s game.
