Mercer beats Reinhardt 90-53 as Shane Cherry scores 21 points

MACON, Ga. (AP) — Shane Cherry’s 21 points helped Mercer defeat Reinhardt 90-53 on Monday.

Cherry added three steals for the Bears (1-0). Derek Goodman scored 18 points, shooting 7 for 12, including 3 for 8 from beyond the arc. K.J. LaMonte shot 3 of 9 from the field and 8 for 10 from the line to finish with 14 points.

Arael Jones finished with 13 points for the Eagles. Reinhardt also got 11 points from Daniel Deng Mabior. Jabari Hall finished with seven points.

Mercer’s next game is Thursday against Virginia Tech on the road, and Reinhardt visits Jacksonville State on Wednesday.
