Tainamo's 23 lead Denver over Nicholls State 91-85

MOBILE, Ala. (AP) — Touko Tainamo scored 23 points as Denver beat Nicholls State 91-85 on Wednesday night.

Tainamo had 11 rebounds and three blocks for the Pioneers (2-1). Tommy Bruner scored 19 points while shooting 5 for 10 (3 for 7 from 3-point range) and 6 of 8 from the free throw line. DeAndre Craig had 17 points and was 3 of 9 shooting, including 2 for 4 from 3-point range, and went 9 for 10 from the line.

The Colonels (1-2) were led in scoring by Jamal West, who finished with 22 points, eight rebounds and three blocks. Jalen White added 20 points and three steals for Nicholls State. In addition, Diante Smith had 18 points, eight rebounds and six assists.
