Miller scores 15 as Florida Gulf Coast downs NAIA's Ave Maria 80-71

FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) — Franco Miller Jr. had 15 points to lead Florida Gulf Coast to an 80-71 victory over NAIA member Ave Maria on Friday night.

Miller had six rebounds for the Eagles (1-1). Keeshawn Kellman scored 14 points and added seven rebounds. Zach Anderson went 4 of 7 from the field to finish with 10 points.

Nick Filchner led the way for the Gyrenes with 18 points. Jonathan Effertz added 16 points for Ave Maria. In addition, Michael Klekas had 14 points and seven rebounds.
